Today we’d like to introduce you to Seanna Terrio.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have always loved photography for as long as I can remember. My great grandfather spent most of his life traveling the world and taking pictures on film with so many different people he met. I really loved looking at those film rolls on a projector as a child.The stories behind those film roll always inspired me to want to photograph, travel and hear about others personal stories of life. I did a little photography here and there and loved to always take pictures of others, but honestly never thought I was good enough to be a big-time photographer. I eventually went into the United States Air Force and continued into college where I pursued my Master’s Degree in Corporate Business. I got the travel through the military, where I engaged in so many amazing cultures and heard life-altering stories for a lifetime. I would take images with everyone I met to remember those people forever.
As time went on, I still picked up the camera as a hobbyist and finally in 2015, my husband took a job in South Florida leaving Jacksonville where we were both full time military members and we began a new path. My husband urged me to pursue photography full time as I really had an eye for it so I left my active duty orders after eight years and decided to go part-time as a Reservist in the Air Force. I wanted to be the amazing photographer and also serve my country so I did. I put myself into every online video, engaged with outstanding photographers, attended numerous workshops and then decided to go for another degree in Digital Photography. Today, I have worked with some of the best and am so honored how much my company has grown.
Has it been a smooth road?
Nothing in life is a smooth road, but with hard work, strength and amazing clients, I have been able to grow to where I am today and I am so thankful. I will always say to others, if you want anything bad enough in life, you will make it happen no matter the obstacles or bumps in the road. My only major obstacle was gaining confidence in myself and never comparing myself to others. Rather only see my journey and where I started and where I am today.

I currently run two business styles- Coastal Sun and Surf Photography I specialize in Coastal Weddings in South Florida. Seanna Terrio Photography I specialize in maternity, newborns and children in the studio and outdoors. I separated them in 2017 so my clients can be more specific to their interests and this was a wonderful transition from the feedback I received. One amazing part of having both styles is my clients come to me when they get engaged, then married, when they start a family and as their family grows. I watch their entire life grow and all their dreams of life come true. It is truly an honor to do what I do every day. I would say what separates me from others is who I am as a person and also my photographic style. I also do not capture just the classical photography of posing and traditional methods, I love to capture the unposed real-life moments when they forget I am there. The laugh, the tears, the silly moments and of course, the moments we can never replace. Photography is not just a picture, it is a snapshot of a moment in time we can never get back. A photograph brings this memory back to us for as long as time goes on.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Our city is an International hub for the world. We have the ability to engage with people from all of the globe and work with various traditions, cultural backgrounds and styles. It does not just become the standard everyday wedding or maternity session, it becomes an experience. Another great part is the variety of locations we have from the gorgeous beaches, parks and monuments to photograph with my clients. As for dislikes, haha traffic, but that is any major city especially one as gorgeous as ours.
