Hi Reading, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey into the world of professional styling began unexpectedly, influenced by my mother’s timeless elegance, despite my initial studies to become an architect. In 2008, I made my foray into fashion styling when I joined the magazine department at Listín Diario in the Dominican Republic, where I honed my eye for aesthetics over six years.
A pivotal moment came in 2011 when I styled Milagros Germán for Chévere Nights, the Dominican Republic’s premier entertainment show. This breakthrough positioned me as a sought-after stylist, leading to opportunities like co-hosting Quítame 10 Años in 2014 and 2015, where I helped participants rediscover confidence through complete image makeovers. In 2016, my debut at the Latin Grammys in Las Vegas, styling Ednita Nazario, marked my entry into the international arena, further elevated by my collaboration with Christian Nodal, whose global success brought my work to international stages.
In 2017, I relocated to Miami and established RP Styling Studio, a firm dedicated to excellence, innovation, and the celebration of Latin culture. With a highly qualified and successful team, our studio serves a diverse clientele that includes singers like Silvestre Dangond and Luis Figueroa, Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Meza, actors and political figures. This year’s (2024) most significant milestones was styling the Vice President of the Dominican Republic, Raquel Peña; and being the Creative Director behind Genesis Suero’s look for the Met Gala. Moments of great pride for our firm and a testament to our commitment to excellence.
Our work is showcased on international platforms, including the Latin Grammys, Billboard Latin Music Awards, Grammys, Latin American Music Awards, Premios Juventud, Premios lo Nuestro, and Miss Universe, with features in renowned publications such as Vogue, GQ, People en Español, Billboard Magazine ,Playboy Mexico, NOIR, Hola (USA, Mexico, Dominican Republic), and Forbes. In 2022, Forbes honored me as one of Central America’s most creative talents, and I had the privilege of designing uniforms for Arajet, the Dominican Republic’s national airline.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to where I am today has been anything but smooth, and each challenge has shaped both my personal and professional growth. Transitioning from my initial studies in architecture to pursuing a career in fashion was an unexpected shift, one that required significant adaptability and resilience. Relocating from the Dominican Republic to Miami presented its own set of challenges—navigating a new country, building a professional network from the ground up, and establishing a presence in a highly competitive market, all without the immediate support of family or financial resources.
One of the most significant challenges was establishing credibility in a highly competitive and fast-paced industry. I had to prove my skills and vision repeatedly, often starting with small opportunities and gradually earning the trust of clients and industry leaders. Balancing creativity with the business side of styling has also been a continuous learning curve, as I’ve needed to manage client expectations, build a team, and stay ahead of industry trends.
Despite these hurdles, each challenge has been a lesson in resilience and perseverance. The difficulties have pushed me to grow, both personally and professionally, leading to some of the most rewarding experiences of my career—working with renowned artists, styling for prestigious events like the Met Gala, and building a diverse portfolio of clients across different industries. These obstacles have shaped who I am today and have reinforced the belief that true growth often emerges from overcoming adversity.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
One of the most important qualities that has contributed to my success is adaptability. The fashion and styling industry is ever-evolving, with trends, client needs, and project demands changing constantly. Being able to adapt quickly while maintaining a clear vision has allowed me to thrive in diverse environments from working with high-profile clients on red carpets to managing complex styling projects for television and editorial shoots.
Equally important is my commitment to building authentic relationships. Understanding my clients’ individual styles, personalities, and goals requires not only creativity but also active listening and empathy. This connection fosters trust and allows me to deliver results that align with their vision while elevating their image.
