Hi Cazo Wilborn & Chris Mathis, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
We’re originally friends from college and realized that everywhere we went, we were always “vibin.” We would always be dancing, connecting with people, and filling a room with good energy. When the world shut down in 2020, we believed that we could continue to keep people entertained and be the reason people smile during a time where everything felt so dark. We began as a live stream on Instagram but transitioned into an audio and video podcast. We fell in love with creating content for people to enjoy and decided to create the show Can I Vibe With Y’all.

We like to say that we’re always learning and working on creating the best possible content. Getting to where we are today took a lot of consistency and resilience. Sounds cliche but this is something we were never “trained” to do. There were a lot of times it was tough to adapt but receiving so much positive feedback from our audience motivates us to keep growing.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We have aspirations of making this very successful and theres no such thing as a smooth road to success. One of the biggest challenges early on was managing this podcast while still having the responsibilities of full time jobs and one of us finishing up school. We also did not realize how many hats have to be worn. For the majority of our journey, we have done our own editing, social media management, email management, outreach, event planning, production, and research just to name a few things. There were a lot of times we had to be up at 3-4 in the morning finishing up edits or recording an episode after a long day at work but we genuinely love our audience and do our best to be present for them.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We create content for people to watch and feel good about. We talk about things that are relatable to all and put our comedic twist on it. We are most known for our guilty pleasure segments where we play songs that people wouldn’t expect us to play. These are usually a variety of songs from the 2000’s era that make people feel like life is good. When you hop online you don’t normally see men jamming out to our types of music with some wine to go with it. But who doesn’t like music with some good wine?
