Today we’d like to introduce you to Scott Alan.
Scott, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today. During my younger years, while working in a nightclub in Philadelphia, I had a great fascination for, the Arts, Fashion and Hair. While visiting my regular hairdresser, my hairdresser suggested that I venture in the hair fashion industry. This is where my magnificent life journey started. I trained at Gordon Phillips in Philadelphia.
I have now been doing hair for 35 years. Recent projects undertaken have included the following locations, Italy, New York, Philadelphia, Switzerland, Los Angeles and Zürich. I also worked on Stage Work and various hair shows. I have been on television. I am the hairdresser for Lisa Petrillo – CBS4 Fashion/Entertainment Reporter. In 2007, I was lead hairdresser for the Playboy Super Bowl party. I was mentioned in the New York Times Bestseller, “How not to look old”, by Charla Krupp, as best hair coloristic in South Florida.
I have trained with Aveda, Davines, Sassoon llongureas (Spain) and Bumble & bumble amongst many others. I love the beach, I love South Florida where there is great Architecture and beauty.
My Artistic inspiration is found in the wide-reaching research from my many interests in the arts, film, history, music and travels.
Has it been a smooth road? For me a struggle is a learning curve. Where my experience allowed me this not to have this a challenge.
So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Scott Alan Hair Studio story. Tell us more about the business. In addition to styling, I am also well experienced in a variety of color and highlight application techniques to achieve the perfect color without damage to your natural hair. Working with the best natural products.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
It seems to going a lot more towards individuals. Going more good ground education.
