Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley-Nicole
Hi Ashley-Nicole, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started as a dream that eventually became reality. Everything I’ve accomplished in my career, I’ve envisioned and spoken into existence. From a young age, I’ve had a deep passion for the world of entertainment—whether it was dance, theater, photography, film, or live events. My journey began in elementary school when I started dancing, and it evolved as I discovered theater and music in middle school. I participated in musicals, dance performances, and concerts, while also playing volleyball and competing in track and field.
In high school, I expanded my interests further by joining the TV production program. I not only hosted a show, but also worked behind the scenes, learning valuable skills like editing, camera operation, and man-on-the-street interviews. As an athlete, I played basketball for the school team, helping lead them to a 13-1 record in my freshman year. By senior year, I was proud to be named team captain. During the off-season, I also excelled in badminton, finishing as one of the top two female singles players. These experiences helped shape me into a well-rounded individual and prepared me for my future career in entertainment.
By the time I reached college, I was certain that film and entertainment were the path I wanted to pursue. I started my YouTube channel, AshSetsTrends, where I created short films and other creative content that I still share today. This platform allowed me to experiment and refine my skills in film production. Now, I work on professional sets for TV shows, feature films, commercials, music videos, and even live events. Every step along the way, I’ve been able to combine my passion for creativity with the technical expertise I’ve gained, and I’m constantly learning and growing in this dynamic industry.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
“Nothing worth having comes easy, but what’s meant for you will fall into place.” This mindset has guided me through challenges and helped me navigate adversity in my career. I’ve faced obstacles at multiple points, each of which has shaped who I am today and deepened my understanding of the industry.
In one of my first major roles, a family member of an executive producer—someone who barely knew me—spread false rumors that initially affected my opportunities. When I learned about it, I knew it had to be addressed. Fortunately, the rapport I built with my team worked in my favor. Since they knew my work ethic and learned the truth, the issue was resolved quickly. This experience taught me a valuable lesson: you have to back yourself, even when others don’t. Staying resilient and believing in yourself is essential. As long as you trust your abilities and keep pushing forward, the right opportunities will come.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in a range of roles within the entertainment industry, with a particular focus on film production and content creation. My work spans across TV shows, feature films, commercials, music videos, photoshoots and live events. I’ve had the privilege of working both behind the scenes and on camera, which has given me a well-rounded understanding of both the creative and technical aspects of production. Known for my versatility, I’m able to seamlessly adapt to different facets of the industry. For instance, as an assistant director, production assistant, or in roles within wardrobe, the art department, or directing and editing my own creative content. Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with talent at every level, from A-list stars to emerging artists, which has provided me with a diverse and comprehensive perspective of the industry.
One of the things I’m most proud of is the journey I’ve taken to build a career that blends my passions for both creativity and technical expertise. I’m particularly proud of the work I’ve done on set. Being able to contribute to such a wide variety of projects has been incredibly rewarding. Additionally, my YouTube channel, AshSetsTrends, was an important step in honing my skills and allowing me to experiment with different formats and styles of content. It’s a space where I can combine my love for storytelling with my technical skills, and it’s something I continue to evolve today.
What sets me apart from others is my ability to bring a unique combination of experience to the table. I’ve had the chance to develop a diverse skill set over the years, from my early days in dance, theater, and sports, to my later work in TV production and film. This variety of experiences has taught me how to collaborate across different areas of entertainment and thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments. I’m also someone who believes in constantly learning and growing, which has helped me stay adaptable in an ever-changing industry.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I see risk-taking as a necessary part of growth and success. Life is short, and stepping out of our comfort zone is often where we find the most meaningful rewards. A major risk I took was leaving a stable, well-paying job at a world-renowned company to pursue my dreams in this industry. It was a leap of faith, but it’s one that’s paid off, both professionally and personally. To me, taking risks means betting on yourself. Even if things don’t go as planned, the experience offers invaluable lessons that can shape your future success.
