Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Olaya.
Jonathan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I moved to Miami from Seattle in 2012 with no intentions of starting a business involving art. I moved here with my father to restart college and get a fresh start. I worked at LA Fitness from the beginning of my relocation until October of 2017. My business and marketing skills developed through my promotions at LA Fitness. It really helped mold a lot of the ideas I have as an entrepreneur. Although, I could have had a successful career where I was, it was not the entrepreneurial route that I was looking for.
Meanwhile, my childhood friend started a supplement company and was heavily invested in the future of social media marketing and brand building. I wanted to create a start-up similar to that business model. My father has been painting his whole life and has completed numerous works in many styles. I began to market his artwork on Instagram and discovered a community of artists and art sharing accounts.
The idea of Art Network was created out of this. Three years later, of many ups and downs, we are now a network of 15 total accounts, 1.5 million followers and the ability to have videos go viral and receive 1 million views. Our goals are always to keep profits re-invested into the network and put the artist desires as our main priority. We are now expanding in to YouTube where we will provide listeners with an art podcast involving anyone who has an influence on the art community, tutorials to teach people how to not only do artwork but how to grow their art business and compilation videos to market artists. We are planning to open our showroom gallery in Wynwood after we raise enough capital to do so! Join our #TeamArtNetwork!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are always trials and tribulations. The road may be smooth but the journey will always be the challenge. From having accounts being hacked to having to quit my full time job to commit myself, there are many challenges. I like to focus on our goals and priorities which can propel you past many of those struggles one might face.
Art Network – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Art Network. 15 total Instagram accounts, 1.5 million followers. Over net 500,000 views daily. Marketing platform for artists. We specialize in marketing for artists and providing tools to get their art as many views and engagement as possible for an extremely low asking price. We like to provide the service at a significantly lower cost than any other digital marketing companies. We also provide insight on growing your art business.
Art Network Podcast is coming soon and will focus on the YouTube platform. This will have artists ranging to galley owners ranging to anyone who is involved in any type of artwork.
