Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Pumpa
Hi Lindsay, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I used copy from my website bc they were much better writers than me. Tried to add in a bit in my own words.
I got a degree in BS of the Arts in Interior Design from Florida State University.
Lindsay Pumpa began her career as a design assistant in a start up interior design business in 2008. Fast forward to 2010 where Pumpa, became the Lead Designer of this now international design company, where she quickly became a driving force within the industry due to her forward approach to design, razor-sharp eye for detail, and undeniable talent.
It was through this unique style and business sense that she was selected as the lead interior designer for the HGTV annual series Urban Oasis, which took place in her current home, Miami, in 2012– and then stayed with the series for the following three years.
While with HGTV, it gave Pumpa the confidence to branch out on her own and in 2013 she opened the doors to L Pumpa Designs. Catering to the residential clientele of south Florida, Nashville, and most recently New York City, her company focuses on any and all custom residential interior design needs. Her past portfolio ranges from comfortable apartments in the bustling downtown, to sprawling estate homes on the outer lying Miami islands.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Well graduating in 2008, as I don’t have to tell most, was a tough market for anyone to get a job, let alone a job in interior design. Even once I landed the job at the company I did, it was fairly touch and go for the first year.
Once I established my position there, I realized that I wanted to do more with my design style instead of working under someone else’s name. HGTV came in at the right time, and having the show and that community around me, it gave me enough confidence to branch out on my own. But what I quickly realized, was there was A LOT more to running a design business, than just designing. The first two years were quite the learning curve, teaching myself all the other departments in a design business; accounting, logistics, customs, ordering, etc.
We’ve been impressed with L Pumpa Designs , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Again, so more copy from my website and then answered additional questions.
Known largely in South Florida for her background in modern design, Lindsay Pumpa makes her mark by blending together unexpected design finishes and textures, while keeping a very contemporary aesthetic. A style she has come to term ‘Liveable Modern’. Because while style is at the forefront of every project, she does not sacrifice the comforts of home to get there.
Most currently, Pumpa has kept herself busy with the running of her own design business, L.Pumpa Designs, which opened its doors in 2013. Catering to the residential clientele of south Florida, her company focuses on any and all custom residential interior design needs.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Take the chance on yourself, even through the tough years I was so happy I did. There is such a sense of pride in building something from the ground up, and I never fail to be reminded of that everyday.
