Conversations with Carlos Cordoba

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carlos Cordoba

Hi Carlos, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started a music solo project called Worldfall back in 2014. At its core, Worldfall is a Metal project; however, I incorporate different influences into my music such as Hard Rock, Industrial music, Hardcore, among other music genres. My first full length album called “False Salvation” was released independently in 2017. Since then, I have released several singles and 2 EPs. Also, I’ll be releasing a second full length album probably by the end of this year, or early next year.

All Worldfall music is available on all digital platforms.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Working independently can have both advantages and disadvantages. It’s very rewarding to have total control over my creative output. I write and perform all my music. It feels great to be able to express myself artistically how I want to. I enjoy the process of writing on my own, recording all my parts at the studio, working on arrangements, writing lyrics, etc…

Having said that, the main drawback I face is time. Taking the time to do all these things I previously mentioned can be challenging at times. I am a very busy person. Balancing my personal life and my artistic life can be tough sometimes, but I’ve been able to make it work somehow.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
– What do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc.

As mentioned before, my music project is called Worldfall. It’s a solo project I formed in 2014. After working on several music projects in the past, I felt it was time for me to work on my solo project and expose all these songs that had been sitting on my pc for many years. I’ve recorded all the instruments on all Worldfall releases, as well as performing vocals.

– What are you most proud of?

I’m proud of all my releases; however, there’s something especial about my first album “False Salvation”. Not only I’m extremely satisfied with how the album turned out, but also I needed to prove myself that I could pull it off by myself. It took a tremendous effort to complete that album but there it is! Also, musically speaking, it’s the most progressive album I’ve put out. I truly put myself to the test.

– What sets you apart from others?
I don’t want my music to sound like everybody else. Just like on every music genre, a lot artists tend to copy each other but I refuse follow that trend. My goal is to create music that sounds unique to myself and the listener.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
In order for someone to be successful, you need to be honest with yourself. Just listen to your inner voice and follow your instincts. Do what fulfills you, regardless of anyone’s opinion. Being honest with yourself can help you become more self-aware, make better decisions, and more importantly, enjoy what you do and live a more satisfying life.
