Today we’d like to introduce you to Cailin Currier
Hi Cailin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started back in the city of St. Louis, Missouri. I definitely used to be someone who was more introverted, and never dreamed that I would be where I am today, much less interviewing for an article in a magazine! All it took was an amazing friend and mentor who saw my potential, believed in me, and pushed me out of my comfort zone. I think I was around 25 at the time I met her; she’s now more of a sister to me than a best friend. She owned her own boutique (Lacy Coe) and I really looked up to her. When she began asking me to help her with content and do shoots in the boutiques items, I was honestly so shocked and uncomfortable, but I took the leap and did it! Most of the shoots were just her, me, and one or two other girls, but I was still so new to it all, I was super shy posing in front of anyone. However, as time went on, and with the support of great friends, I started to get more confident with myself and really enjoy shoot days. As I started to get more active on my social media page, more brands started to notice and reach out. In turn, I began reaching out to bigger brands; I would out getting content by myself with a tripod in my apartment parking garage getting strange looks from the neighbors just to get that golden hour lighting. Content creation became something I truly enjoyed doing; it was my creative outlet. However, in small town Missouri, there is only so much reach you have on social media as an influencer.
At 27, I made the move to Miami. I had been visiting a friend who had moved to the area, and fell in love with the energy of the city. When I finally moved, I was about half way through NP school. I was able to find all of the clinical rotations I needed to finish school, and I knew that I wanted to make the lifestyle change. Once I finished NP school and passed boards, I was able to devote more time to influencing and modeling in addition to my job as an Aesthetic Nurse practitioner. On social media, I was really able to zone in on my personal brand and niche-which is beauty and wellness. I signed with Premiere models, a mothering agency, to further pursue modeling and improve my brand outreach. They have been so incredibly supportive throughout this journey.
As time has gone on, I’ve become more and more integrated into the influencer space here in Miami. I have made amazing and supportive friends who truly want me to succeed! We attend events together, share PR contacts, and make time each week to get any needed content-because it’s so much more fun to do with friends!
While my full time career is still in Aesthetic Medicine, I have so much passion for content creation and sharing my lifestyle and favorite things with my friends and followers. I am so excited to see where content creation can take me in the future!
Travel is another passion of mine, as I have always thought that travel and experiencing other cultures is so important, and in the future, I would love the ability to travel more and integrate that into my brand outreach and content to share with followers!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say that overall, it has all gone fairly smoothly! Although I did start up slowly, the pace worked for where I was at in life as far as finishing school and beginning my career. Once I moved to Miami, I was very pleasantly surprised how supportive the community is, and I’ve made some amazing friends!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I believe that one thing that sets me apart from other content creators is my background in healthcare. When I share health and wellness recommendations with the community, they trust what I am saying from a medical standpoint. In turn, this has created a good rapport among my followers as well as current and potential future brand partners!
For me, content creation is a side gig, but I would absolutely love to turn it into more and definitely look up to other content creators who are able to do it as their full time job.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I would say that my friends-those from home and those that I have made here in Miami, have been my biggest cheerleaders and I truly attribute where I am at today to their support!
