Today we’d like to introduce you to Pierina Montano.
Pierina, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started after real estate crisis, I was a real estate broker for 10 years of my life and after real estate crisis I found out I needed to reinvent myself and find something else I would love to do in the mid time real estate catch ups again, but the answer was found it in a TV series called Nip Tuck, when I saw the spa that was created for the wife that needed to reinvent herself too. I did some search on google about licensing, schools and all certifications. I need it to achieve my new goal, having my own medspa.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I started in a small suit just because I thought it was going to be temporary until real estate crisis ends, but was not like that. One day I just found that o had so many clients that I couldn’t handling myself and I did my first hire. Then, when the time pass I had to rent another room and hire more people.
After few months, I found out I was needed to move to another location, then after some search I found a place to move and hire more people. Hiring process is not easy process and payroll is worse but that’s the beauty of business reality. Specially, creating a system that not only get clients in love of the services, but the staff get in love to their job and minimize the risk of changing personnel.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the VIP Laser story. Tell us more about the business.
The model I created was based in best technology achieving Non-surgical treatments and helping people to achieve their goals with less invasive therapies. For example, skin tightening, today’s day everybody wants to look younger but not to do necessarily a surgery that’s why the technology is an important part here. Best technology in combination with a well-trained personal is the real key for success in the spa business. I love technology with first and last name that have a really good reputation in the business because that can facilitate the best results. One of my favorites services we offer is the laser hair removal, because I always have the same comment from my clients, “the laser hair removal was my best investment in my life” that makes me feel so good, and more because I know the word investment from previous experience in business.
That was one of the reasons I started thinking and thinking what to do to help more people to have the same investment opportunity, and I created the VIP Memberships.
The memberships is like a payment plan, it’s a fixed monthly payment that the client choose which one of the memberships fit in their budget and by that way they can achieve their goals, depending on the treatments or necessities.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t believe in luck, I believe that you have to be open to changes and ready for the opportunity. The opportunity is a like a favor of god, when it spears you have to be ready to receive it because if not, it’s just going to walk away.
