Today we’d like to introduce you to Dawn DeCesare and Patricia Boris.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have always had a LOVE for interior design. Even as a teenager, I was forever re-arranging my bedroom and my childhood home. Lucky for me, my parents appreciated my creativity and sense of style. Having said that, they let me bring home and re-purpose treasures from local garage sales, thrift stores and items thrown to the curb by neighbors. Vintage furniture has always been my passion, appreciating the design and bones of a piece, looking past the sometimes outdated fabric and finish. I began selling to local dealers and designers when I met my friend and now business partner Patricia Boris. She also has a keen eye for fabulous vintage pieces and was also selling to designers and dealers. Coincidentally, we met as neighbors both moving into the same development. The rest is history, we joined forces and launched PalmBeachRegency.com. Wait, did I say coincidentally? I believe their are no coincidences 🙂 As Einstein said, God doesn’t throw dice with the universe. 🙂 Lucky for us we grew fast, moving 4 times in one year from an 800-square foot warehouse to a 6,000-square foot warehouse. We have had the pleasure of working with the nicest clients in the world. From chic guys and gals in their 20’s decorating their first digs to fabulous top designers! 🙂 Palm Beach Regency is a true love and we are so grateful to be living the dream. 🙂
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
We have been fortunate to have had a sooth road. Catching the eye of many top designers spreading the word about our site and putting us on the map. Having said that, we have worked very hard and long hours to make PBR a success. I think when you love what you do, it never seems like work! 🙂
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Palm Beach Regency story. Tell us more about the business.
Palm Beach Regency is an online vintage furniture boutique. We specialize in vintage Palm Beach Chinoiserie, Faux bamboo, mid-century modern and anything rattan with that old Florida style. Although, we sell mostly online, our warehouse/showroom is always welcome to the public. We are most proud of doing business with integrity and having fun with PBR. I think what sets us apart from others is our wide range of beautiful inventory at a great price point.
