Meet Elana Omari of Acupuncture by Elana

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elana Omari.

Elana, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was a housewife in Long Island NY raising my three beautiful children.

When my youngest child started first grade, I decided it is time to go back to school.

I was always intrigued by alternative medicine. There was no google back then, so I did my research at the public library. I came across Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. An astrologist once told me that I will be doing something with my hands, that I have powerful hands. As I was reading about Chinese medicine I remembered that, and made my decision. I never regretted that. My passion to my practice grows more and more every day.

Treating patients for more than a decade, I am now a solid member of the holistic medical community.

I have a Master degree in Acupuncture and Health Sciences from New York College of Health Professions. I am a diplomat of Acupuncture recognized by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture. After graduation, at 2004 I opened up my private practice on Long Island where I was successfully treating patients for over 10 years.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I cannot say it is a smooth road. Every patient is an individual, and skin condition is being treated different with each patient. I need to tailor the treatment to the patient.

There are some stubborn cases, however it is challenging as well as satisfying journey.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
In 2012, I joined the team in Noy Skin Care in NY city, where I specialize in skin conditions.

Successfully we are treating clients combining western technology and time tested eastern knowledge in the treatment of acne, psoriasis, eczema, premature aging, hyper pigmentation and many other related skin conditions.

In February 2017, I opened up my practice in North Miami, Florida. I share my space with a cosmetic dermatologist.

Although we are working independently, I believe we can complement each other in time, when patients learn that you can combine past knowledge, with nowadays medicine.

I believe that beauty can be achieved at any age. When you feel good, you look good, and when you look good you feel good about yourself. This can be achieved by the treatment of acupuncture and herbal medicine. These two disciplines work in concert, to achieve the maximum results in slowing down the natural process of aging. The goal is to promote natural beauty and wellness of the body and spirit.

Under Masters Mary Elizabeth Wakefield and Dr. Ping Zhang, world-renowned in the field of cosmetic acupuncture, I immersed myself in a rigorous course of study developing my expertise in facial acupuncture and facial rejuvenation.

What were you like growing up?
I grew up in Israel. True love is singing and music. I never follow through with this passion, I guess I didn’t have enough courage to go on stage.
