Hi Marisa, I’m so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed with your story and how you got to where you are today.
I’m Marisa, originally from East Harlem, New York. I am a mom of two daughters and a newly empty nester. I’m new to Miami and looking forward to capturing love stories.
My love affair with photography began in my early memories, watching my dad always with a camera. This fascination with capturing memories stuck with me, and when I moved to Miami to expand my business, it became the foundation of my journey.
I’m entirely self-taught, learning the ropes through workshops and online tutorials. As I navigated through different events and parties in NY, I stumbled upon wedding photography almost by accident. After my first wedding shoot, I was hooked. The joy of being a part of a couple’s love story, capturing those intimate and emotional moments, resonated with me in ways I never anticipated.
From the busy streets of NYC to the romantic settings of Miami weddings, I’ve turned my passion for freezing moments into a thriving career as a wedding photographer. Each click of my camera lens captures a moment and adds another chapter to the beautiful stories of the couples I work with.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting, it was challenging to build a diverse and impressive portfolio to showcase my skills, especially since I initially focused on events and parties before transitioning to weddings.
Building a network in a new city, like Miami, poses difficulties. Establishing connections with wedding vendors, venues, and other professionals in the industry takes time and effort.

I specialize in telling love stories through my lens, with a focus on capturing the raw, emotional moments that make each wedding unique. From the joyous laughter to the tender exchanges, my goal is to create a visual narrative that truly reflects the essence of the couple.
I’m known for my ability to connect with the couple and their guests on a personal level. Building genuine relationships allows me to capture not only the visual beauty of the day but also the authentic emotions and interactions that unfold. This connection results in photographs that go beyond mere images, telling a story that resonates with the hearts of those involved.
One of my proudest achievements is the seamless transition from capturing various events and parties to specializing in weddings. The journey has been both challenging and rewarding, and every wedding I photograph is a testament to the passion and dedication that fuel my craft.
What sets me apart is not only my technical proficiency and creative approach but also the personal touch I bring to each project. As a young mom, I understand the importance of preserving family moments, and this perspective infuses my work with a unique blend of warmth and authenticity.
