Today we’d like to introduce you to Ingrid Smith.
Ingrid, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a singer/songwriter/jewelry designer. Originally from Austria, I lived and worked in 7 countries. GERMANY, AUSTRIA, ITALY, GREECE, TURKEY, SPAIN, and now USA.
After high school, I studied languages, acting, and singing and got a job as a singer and drummer with a band working for the USO, met my husband 50 years ago in Germany and moved in the early 80s to Florida. I worked for a radio station in West Palm Beach, Florida, as a radio host, became a conference speaker, and opened up a jewelry company.
I got a contract with Disney in Orlando and operated ’til the pandemic a jewelry store in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Now, I am semi-retired, created songs and videos with 27 film freeway awards in the last 3 years. Opened up a store in Melbourne Beach and online with our crystal and jewelry designs.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Life is like a camera, focus on the good times, develop from the negative, and if things don’t work out, take another shot.
My motto….works like a charm.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I love music, so I work with music and write lyrics, work with musicians and collabs, and with talented music producer Frank Starchak, Deltona, Florida.
I design metaphysical jewelry and my daughter and husband run the jewelry business. Both of them are also very talented and creative, Tom and Angela Alexander with Gem Creations SA Inc.
Networking and finding a mentor can have a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Time has worked well for me, interacting with other professionals, learning technology, networking, and reading and studying. That is my advice for any entrepreneur in any business.
