Thanks for sharing your story with us Shauna. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
As long as I can remember, I’ve always been the girl that friends come to for advice. Connecting with others and empathizing with their situations has always been instinctive. This naturally led me down the path of obtaining a psychology degree, studying behavior and working as a behaviorist for 14 years.
My extensive background in psychology and behavior plays a role in my coaching, but my true skill set was developed through personal experience.
When I was in my late 20’s, I was “happily married” (or… so I thought!) until I made a devastating discovery: my husband was cheating on me.
I was absolutely devastated. I fought for the marriage an entire year after the discovery. My hope was for reconciliation but the only thing that resulted was experiencing one emotionally painful moment after another.
At the age of 30, I found myself single, starting over and completely heartbroken.
I learned to be gentle with myself and slowly started working through the desolating pain. While taking steps to move forward and heal, I began to examine my life and who I was at my core. Even while I was at my most devastated state, deep inside I knew one thing for sure: I believed in love.
Not just, I’d-rather-be-with-you-than-be-alone love… I mean real, unfiltered, all encompassing, confident, accepting and unconditional love.
I wouldn’t settle for anything less. (And neither should you!)
So… I ventured into the “dating world.”
And let me tell ya… I came to one conclusion VERY quickly: Dating. Is. Exhausting!!!
The dating world has drastically changed: it’s more digitalized than ever, desires instant gratification, and is full of emotionally unavailable men!
For five years, I dated in every modern and old fashioned way possible: online dating, speed dating, approached by men, approaching men myself, friends of friends, blind dates, etc. I’ve definitely been the girl frustrated with dating, wondering where all the quality men are, and thoroughly discouraged.
As the years passed, I became extremely frustrated with dating. I still wanted love in my life but it felt nearly impossible.
I realized that something drastic needed to change.
So I started making changes… I took the time to objectively analyze my approach. I studied men. I embraced my feminine energy. I unearthed my roadblocks. I mastered how to represent myself (online, in-person, and while on dates) for the amazing woman I am.
I didn’t change myself… but I did completely change my approach.
And then… something wonderful happened. My dating life transformed from frustrating to… fun!
Through the years, I mastered how to successfully date with a purpose. I discovered how to utilize online dating for the great modern tool it can be and how to attract the right type of men. I mastered how to amplify the connection and authentically flirt. I learned exactly how to lay the groundwork for exclusives and only emotionally invest the appropriate amount.
I’m now married to the absolute love of my life. (I met him through a dating site!) The love I experience with Kevin is real, unfiltered, all encompassing, confident, accepting and unconditional. I’m telling you— it does exist.
Nothing makes me happier than sharing this skill set with relationship ready women and helping them find the loving relationship they deserve (and are oh-so-ready for!). I absolutely LOVE my job!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Creating and growing an online business is full of so many complicated components. When I decided to start my own business, I had NO idea all that was involved.
I knew my goal was to be a life coach because I wanted to transform people’s lives. I knew I was great at helping people find love and I was excited to turn that into my career.
What I didn’t know was all that it took to create that career! I had NO idea the amount of new business and digital information I had to learn. There’s marketing, social media, analytics, business strategy, funnels, hosting webinars, creating lead magnets, utilizing auto-responders, leading consultations, retargeting, etc.
That’s a lot!
I definitely had moments I was completely overwhelmed and felt incredibly lost.
Thankfully, through all the highs and lows, I’ve have my amazing husband by my side. Kevin has believed in me and encouraged me from the moment I told him this was my dream.
When I first threw myself into learning all the “online business things”, I really didn’t enjoy it. In fact, I used to dread dealing with the business and marketing side… and now… I actually find joy in it!
I can honestly say I’ve grown to LOVE the business and marketing side of an online business.
I also love sharing everything I’ve learned so much that… I actually have business clients in addition to my dating clients! Now, I’m helping others create the right funnel, system, and marking strategy for their online business that converts.
I never would have thought I would add “business coach” to my title… but it’s there now. What was once daunting is now exciting!

Everything is customized around what my client needs. We have scheduled coaching meetings (via Skype or FaceTime). In between those meetings, there are lots of (fun!) self growth assignments.
Plus, I have unlimited contact with my private clients. When my client needs me… I’m there!
I offer free consultations for potential clients to see if I’m the right coach for them… and for ME to see if they’re the right client for me (I only accept clients that are ready to do “the work” and I know I can help).

I have to give credit to my amazing husband, Kevin.
I would not have this business if he didn’t unwaveringly believe in me.
I always knew I wanted to use my journey (from heartbroken to dating to finding love) to help others. By the time Kevin and I were engaged, I had an entire file FULL of notes!
I documented everything I had gone through. I had notes from what I went through with my ex, all the emotions I felt, what helped me, what didn’t help me, my dating frustrations, what changes I had made, what worked, what didn’t work, when everything started to change, and so much more!
I remember the moment I told Kevin (my Fiancé at the time) I wanted to be a life coach that specialized in dating.
I was so incredibly nervous he would think I was crazy! I sat him down, gathered my notes, and began explaining to him my business plan. I told him it was my dream to use my experience to help others and have my own coaching business.
He sat quietly as I talked (probably for waaaay too long!) and then he spoke. He said, “Ok! I believe in you. Let’s do this!”
And, that has been the story ever since!
He has supported, encouraged, and believed in me… even in the moments I didn’t.
I’m so thankful to have this amazing man by side who always gives me the courage to push through my roadblocks and come out on the other side.
