Meet David Goldsztajn of GOFar Balloons in Wynwood Edgewater

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Goldsztajn.

Thanks for sharing your story with us David. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Growing up, me and my brother would play in our mother’s party store to through parties. As children and teenagers, we worked blowing up balloons in Barranquilla, Colombia. In 2000, after graduating high school, I moved to Miami to attend college. Later that same year, we started the balloon business in South Florida by doing our first installation for the Miami Dade Wolfson Campus holiday party. Since then, we have been working in South Florida and since the Fall of 2017, we launched GOFar Balloons with a fresh look and vibrant ideas for designs of balloon installations.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The hardest part about creating a new concept and brand has to be letting go with the old. Working with my family has presented to be the greatest asset and at the same the greatest challenge to agree on the direction and vision for our brand. Other than that, thankfully, we have always met and surpassed the expectations of our clients with our designs.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about GOFar Balloons – what should we know?
We are a group of artists, we are designers, photographers, event designers, who are passionate about what we do and we love to do it. We create balloon installations that are sure to make an impact, but more than than they are unique pieces of art that are sure to awake an emotion in those who see them. Balloons usually make people smile. As a company, we are most proud in our work ethic, we are reliable, responsible and punctual and we value those same characteristics in our team. One of the things that set us apart from the rest is our excellent costumer service, we try to go above and beyond what our costumers expect, because of this often our clients become our friends.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
It takes a village and this is no exception. From the beginning my mother Luz Farelo has been my mentor and everything I learn of how to work with balloons I owe to her. My father Szlama Goldsztajn for always going out of his way to promote the business. To my friends, who have always been there to support me in every key decision: Gabriel Pastrana, with social media our branding initiative, and design ideas; Natalia Vanegas and Darian Abascal for capturing the best angles and images of our designs through their lenses; Loren Blandon, for guiding me on the best business practices when it comes to staffing and selecting my team; and of course, the uncountable people who, through the years have helped us bring our designs to life.
