Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Tardi.
Michael, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was first introduced to the hospitality and event world through my father’s mobile video production company. As a child, I would often tag along with my father to high-end events taking place in some of Manhattan’s most exclusive venues. This is when I first fell in love with the special event and hospitality industry.
When I turned 13 I established my own musical entertainment company that I operated out of my bedroom. I performed at local parties such as sweet 16’s, bar/bat mitzvahs, and school events. I became very successful and the business grew so quickly within the first two years that I found myself at the young age of 15 having to move into to a 600 square foot office/storage space nearby.
Nearly 25 years later, I’m still doing what I love most. MMEink, once a musical entertainment company in the early 90’s has now grown into one of the nation’s premier hospitality and event management agencies. MMEink provides its clients with a comprehensive event and hospitality plan that delivers the very best in event planning, event management and food and beverage services.
Has it been a smooth road?
Business always has its ups and downs. But I find one of the biggest challenges is finding the right people to join my company who share my passion for the event and hospitality industry.
I’ve put together a solid team but sometimes the changes in personnel can be a challenge for my organization.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Miami is a good place for a business like MMEink because the city is one of America’s hottest destinations and international hub, making it a great location to host an event.
Miami can potentially be a tough environment for a new event production company because the standards in Miami are set very high. I believe a company would need some experience producing high-end events first in order to be successful in Miami.
