Exploring Life & Business with Angelica Perez of Crown On Boutique

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angelica Perez.

Hi Angelica, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
For as long as I can remember, I have been passionate about fashion. As a little girl, I was always fascinated with clothing, shoes, makeup – basically anything I could find to dress up and be girly.

I competed in beauty pageants when I was younger for about four years and with every pageant I competed in, I learned more about myself, my style, and fashion. After I graduated high school, I worked at Old Navy for almost two years and during that time was when I realized the love I had for inspiring others to dress their best while feeling their most confident.

By mid-2018, I knew I wanted to build a fashion community of my own, and owning a boutique was ultimately the end goal for me. I knew it was time to start. With a goal in mind to make women of all ages, sizes, and clothing preferences, comfortable in what they wear, I launched Crown On Boutique as an online store in November.

Since then, we have opened our first storefront in Hialeah on August 21, 2021, and we’re confident that this is only the beginning!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Owning a business is never a smooth road. When I first started my business, I faced numerous obstacles. However, with persistence and determination, you can always overcome any challenge.

While I absolutely love being my own boss, it’s sometimes overpowering and hard to balance your personal and business life. I’m very involved in every single thing that happens at Crown On since we are an extremely small team, so that means wearing many hats at all times.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Crown On Boutique is a women’s online store and Miami boutique. Living in Miami, I’ve always found it difficult to find clothing that I liked or suited my body type. I couldn’t find anything that was comfortable or made me feel confident in myself because I didn’t fit into the classic “Miami body type.”

One thing we pride ourselves on at Crown On is curating pieces that everyone feels comfortable in and their most confident. We cater to girls as young as 13 to women in their 50s. Our main goal is not only to create long-lasting relationships with our customers but to make them want to come back because it’s a place, whether online or in-store, where they feel comfortable shopping at. Use code VOYAGE for 20% off your order!

We are honest, we are supportive, we are uplifting, and we want everyone to leave feeling excited about their new outfits and grateful for their time spent at Crown On.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Optimism. Some of the biggest success stories often start out as simple ideas. Without a sense of optimism and belief in myself, I’m not sure I would have achieved what I have in life thus far.
