Daily Inspiration: Meet Sarah Balduzzi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Balduzzi.

Hi Sarah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Hi! Thanks for having me.

I’d say I got here today because creating and viewing life from different perspectives has always been my default programming. It’s like my brain can’t help but see the beauty and design in every room I walk into, or imagine the music video that could accompany every single song I hear. I love finding the hidden potential in ordinary things, and believe life is so much better when we look at things from new angles.

Flash forward to entering the world of photography. I fell in love with capturing people and romantic love but my greatest passion was storytelling for those that I believe need it the most, small businesses. I grew up under two entrepreneurs, so naturally, that’s just how my brain works. Now today, I get to use my obsession of creating to help support other small business owners by solving their biggest problem… storytelling.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When it comes to pursuing a creative career, learning to follow your calling is a complex and interesting obstacle – because I didn’t grow up even thinking this could be an option. Growing up as a millennial, the world wasn’t opened up to all of the possibilities that it has now. The majority of us were groomed by society, collectively all under the same impression, that we were meant to seek out traditional career paths and follow our previous generation’s footsteps after college. I love the vast amount of paths that exist nowadays, but if I’m being honest, it took the greatest energy within myself to go against the grain of those around me and put myself out there to build a career in the area that I felt called towards, even if it wasn’t a traditionally accepted route to take at the time. I encourage anyone else to do the same, if you feel pulled to do something other than what you’re currently doing, please do yourself the greatest act of kindness and go after it.

Another challenge early on in my path was learning to trust my ideas, even when they seemed unconventional or unexpected. I used to think of them as intrusive thoughts, but now I’m trusted and paid for those same ideas that come to me involuntarily. It feels as though the biggest shift in my work occured when I stopped second guessing my ideas and started trusting them above anything else. The world needs individuals who think differently and can execute their ideas in meaningful ways. Trust your instincts and don’t be afraid to think outside the box!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
Sure, I’m the owner and art director of Rebel Creative Agency, which is a women-led content creation agency that supports business owners and sustainable brands. We handle your content, so you can handle your business.

By definition, the term Rebel means to defy societal norms. So, we specialize in doing just that – pushing the envelope, being bold and creating scroll-stopping content. We’re known to draw inspiration from nature and the feminine, and utilize both film and digital mediums. For the right clients, blending the old with the new is actually pure magic.

So when brands need content, they can trust us to create something untraditional and highly aesthetic for their business. And when it comes to the productions, we handle everything under the sun from start to finish for our clients to make it seamless.

Seeing our clients’ businesses thrive as a result of our work is incredibly fulfilling. We’ve been fortunate enough to help increase revenues by 8-10x, which is truly a testament to the power of great content.

What matters most to you? Why?
For me, it’s all about being able to help others and loving what I’m doing in the process. It’s incredibly fulfilling to support small business owners and sustainable brands, while also giving other creatives work opportunities to be a part of the agency and pursue their passions. Creating and storytelling have always been my calling, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to make a difference for our clients.
