Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Leckenbusch.
Michelle, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have always been a very crafty person from scrapbooking to card making to baking. Before having my kids I was a banker, and I was always in charge of making the birthday desserts for the employees. I would make gourmet cheesecakes, birthday cakes or pies whatever they requested. I enjoyed making their day special. Once I started having children I always wanted to help make their day extra special as well.
I enjoyed every year making a special cake for them. My passion just grew from there. I started out making cakes for just my friends. Then word-of-mouth traveled and it became friends of friends. Before I knew it I had a small business in the making. That was about 12 years ago. Part of my enjoyment is seeing people react with such joy or shock when they say…wow that is a cake? Sugar is now running through my veins and I enjoy creating fun and delicious edible art.
Has it been a smooth road?
Life is about ups and downs. No business can say they run 100% smooth all the time. I have been blessed to not have any major struggles in front of me. Trying new recipes and them not to my standards at times could be looked at as a struggle. I also struggle with how many cakes to take per week, as a mommy to 6, a wife and a cake designer balance will always be a struggle lol. I look at every cake as a new challenge and enjoy overcoming whatever the order may be.

I specialize in cakes for any occasion. From birthdays to showers to weddings. I enjoy seeing clients event after event year after year. I have many that I have started from wedding shower to wedding cake to baby shower and now birthday cakes. That is truly a blessing in my world. I create cake art from simple to elaborate depending on the need. Crazy sculted cakes can be just as fun as a simple and clean birthday cake.
Life is all what you make of it. I am a very positive person with a bubbly personality. I can multitask like the best of them… 6 kids… need I say more lol I try to stay current with the trends and competitive with my prices. Cake has to look good AND taste good. I take great pride in making sure it does both of those things. 🙂
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I provide cakes from North FL to South FL and all in between. I enjoy traveling for cake deliveries… some days that is my only quiet time, lol!
