Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariana Jeanine.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always had a thing for makeup, but I didn’t start taking it seriously until about 2017. Around 2019-2020 I started getting a lot of recognition for my makeup looks, especially my special effects makeup. I knew that getting my license was going to be key for bigger doors opening for me. So, in 2021, I enrolled in a cosmetology program for esthetics, graduated, and got my license. A month after graduation, I opened my spa room, “Gifted Skin & Beauty” and one month after that, I went viral on TikTok, and here I am now!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It’s definitely been rough but nothing that I ever felt like I couldn’t overcome. Being a single mother comes with obstacles of its own. But on top of wanting to be a perfect parent, I also wanted to be a perfect business owner. So, I took it really hard when I first started out and didn’t get many clients. I had just moved back to Florida less than a year before opening my business. I hadn’t lived here since I was about 10. So, I didn’t really know anyone and had to build all of my clients from scratch. That’s where TikTok became a big help.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a licensed esthetician and makeup artist/social media influencer. I specialize in relaxing facials and special effects makeup. I’ve more recently taken of the hat of ASMR, and my videos are very popular. Those are three things people mainly know me for, but I do plan to showcase many more talents in the future. I love makeup so I want to start showing more of that side of me. I’m just glad that my biggest passions go hand in hand, lol. I’m really an all-around beauty kind of girl. Skincare, makeup, fashion, hair, I love it all. I like just being pretty in and out from head to toe. Pretty is my lifestyle. It’s my form of self-care and a way that my followers relate to me.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
The biggest thing that worked for me is not being shy. You’ll miss opportunities by not having that “go-getter” personality, speaking up, and letting people know what you do and why you’re the best at it. Because while you’re being quiet waiting on someone to notice your talent, somebody who isn’t even as good as you is out there selling themselves and winning.
