Meet Jenni Schwartz of Solmark Creative in Boca Raton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenni Schwartz.

Jenni, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In my early twenties, I was working as a graphic designer for large corporations and felt unfulfilled creatively. I decided to go back to school and become an Art Teacher, putting myself through graduate school by freelancing. To my surprise, I was getting business, making money and really enjoying it. I finished graduate school with a degree I never used and a new business, Jenni Schwartz Design. It was just me and my Mac for the next 10 years.

In 2014, my husband Mike sold his indoor golf business around the same time we had our first daughter. We were living in NYC and he was looking for his next venture. I was looking to grow my business so we decided to team up. I still lead all creative aspects while Mike handles business development and everyday operations. We recently dropped my name and rebranded as Solmark Creative.

Has it been a smooth road?
We moved from New York City to Boca Raton in June 2016 to give our growing family more breathing room and to be closer to people we love. Initially, the biggest struggle was finding our creative community and learning how to stay relevant and up to date with web design trends. In New York it was easy, there is always a meet-up to join, a speaker to hear or a conference to attend.

But don’t complain, invent! After relocating, I took to social media to seek out local like-minded creatives and agencies. I quickly discovered that I wasn’t the only one in search of a strong creative community. I joined an amazing team, and together we founded the Palm Beach chapter of CreativeMornings. I now have a talented network to inspire, collaborate and learn from.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Solmark Creative is a branding and digital design studio that specializes in the wellness and fitness industry. For example, if you were opening a cycling or group personal training studio you would hire us to design your visual identity, develop your voice, build your website, share our expertise and hold your hand every step of the way.

I got my first big break in the fitness industry in 2010 when the indoor cycling studio, Flywheel, hired me to be on their initial branding team. Boutique fitness was in its infancy and most people were still going to actual gyms to get their sweat on. The work I did for Flywheel led to more and more opportunities in the fitness and wellness space. This niche felt right, as it aligned with my lifestyle and the industry was growing quickly. I do, however, believe in cheat days and am open to working with all industries.
