Hi Latrice, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello, I’m Latrice Miller from Miami, FL. I was raised in a two-parent household with my mother and stepfather. I am the middle child out of three children. Our family motto was always to “Put God First”. My parents believe that a good education would take us far and secure decent employment opportunities.
I was fourteenth when I entered the workforce, my father would always impart to me the importance of great work ethics. I believe this made me a hard worker. In High School, I was in the Diversified Career Technology Program and Early Childhood Education, which allowed me to get on-the-job training. Once I graduated from high school I went to college and quickly learned that hands-on experience and helping people was my better quality.
I began working at Nationwide Cable Company as a customer service representative then I found myself working multiple jobs. My next endeavor was an international insurance company as a telephone claim adjuster. I gain experience and knowledge and took my state insurance licensee course to obtain my license.
This allowed me to sell life insurance, health insurance, annuities, and general lines of insurance. This gave me great pride and I thought my financial troubles were over. As the years went by slowly my nightmare of inflation started to increase the cost of living. Immediately three jobs and overtiredness were common for me.
One day I woke up and the next chapter begin, my sweetheart, my friend asked me for my hand in marriage. This was the point in my life at which I asked myself, “What will marriage and work look like? My husband was ready to take on my burdens, but I was accustomed to my job. I had over ten years of experience or more in them all, but I was exhausted.
I realized a shift must take place. I thought to myself, is there a better way to secure financial stability? One day a young lady reached out to me and extended an invitation to look at a business opportunity via zoom. I went to the business opportunity presentation about travel, and other opportunities. I realized it was something that I already love to do. It took me time to save for a good trip, but traveling was my thing.
This business opportunity would allow me to earn the additional income I was seeking for my household, time, and financial freedom. This would also put me in the position to later create a legacy for my family. I could help impact other families as well. So, the bonus career I started my journey as a travel business owner almost 2 years ago, Captivating Journeys was created.
This opportunity has afforded my husband and me so many opportunities. The ability to travel the world in style. We’ve shared so many memorable travel experiences in Cancun Mexico, Key West, Cozumel Mexico, Jamaica, Grand Cayman Islands, New York, Baltimore Maryland, Alabama, and New Orleans. Our dream trips to London, Paris, and Rome. We were able to take a photo shoot in front of the Eiffel tower In Paris.
Now to you, this might seem common but for me, this was a dream come true! Remember I told you my parents said to always put God first, and I truly believe God is what helped sustained my parent’s low-income household, but Mexico, Jamaica, and Paris were the only places I fantasized about being able to visit from television or magazines.
Thanks to my travel business encounter I now have generational wealth with my own business Captivating Journeys. Most of all my happiness is from making it possible for my family and other family’s dreams to come true!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, this journey has not been easy. It’s hard to stay and continue to be consistent. Sometimes you just got to get out of your way and tackle the fear. I think sometimes we are afraid more of the unknown than the known. Meaning you know you have all the experience and knowledge to knock this out of the park but we always go back to the what if we fail instead of what if we succeed.

I’m a Life insurance agent/Travel Business Owner. I specialize in finding memorable affordable vacations for families. I’m known for Traveling the world and sharing my experiences with others.
What I’m most proud of is that I can make others’ travel dreams come true. I think what set me apart from others is that I am friendly, good nature, and easy to talk and I am known as the lady that goes the extra mile.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and are any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Oh yeah. The pandemic taught me that you must have multiple streams of income.
Just being reminded of all the people who lost their jobs when the world shut down. This mostly made me appreciate Captivating Journeys the travel business which allowed me to continue business as usual because travel continued. It made have slowed down but never stop.
