Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Levy.
Robert, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
The restaurant started in 1991 by my former partner, and has grown each year. We are a staple in the Boca Raton crowd.
Originally from the UK, with a retail clothing background, I moved here in 2010, where I become involved as a partner at Bagelworks.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The restaurant business is never a smooth ride, and of course there has been ‘bumps’ on the road. Hurricanes, power failures etc are all meant to challenge the retail industry here in S Flo!
We have tried to keep our aim very simple-consistent food, good efficient service and the freshest ingredients.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Bagelworks – what should we know?
South Flo has many bagel-type stores. Only a few have consistently offered what we have offered since 1991. Efficient service, quality food and a unique atmosphere. I highly recommend you to sit at our counter and take in the atmosphere!
We are known for our bagels-baked daily from scratch and our tuna. Our tuna is legendary! I even trademarked the name ‘legendary tuna’! It is superb.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
The restaurant is a team effort. We have over 25 employees, some of whom have been with us since 1991!
Every one of my staff deserve a mention. That are part of the reason why we are so successful and why there are lines at our doors daily.
