Today we’d like to introduce you to Gaby Coburn.
Hi Gaby, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was in the Master’s program at Palm Beach Atlantic University and while working at a creative agency, my passion for creating content started to bloom. I always enjoyed styling, curating, and concept design but it was when I received a note from jewelry designer, Stephanie Kantis, admiring my work did I really feel that I was on the right track of building my career and following my passion. Fast forward a couple of years, I began working with local brands and start-ups throughout Palm Beach County. I started attending influencer network events where I met some amazing creatives that I can now happily call my friends. I tried learning as much as I could with every collaboration I did to help build my brand and grow as a creative.
I now am a wife, mother, and entrepreneur. I freelance as a concept creator and creative consultant. I am so proud of how far I’ve come and am excited to see what the future holds.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve encountered many obstacles along the way but one that really required a lot of growth was trying to “fit-in” as an influencer. I kept believing that the number of followers defined my success. Once I changed that mindset and focused on what really mattered, creating, making my own way and adding more to life, I began to enjoy everything I was doing as an entrepreneur/influencer.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Currently, I’ve been working on content creation projects and creative consultation and improving marketing strategies for brands. I notice my specialization evolves as my brand grows. My latest projects involve styling for lifestyle and product photoshoots. But my favorite lifetime job is raising two boys who call me MOM. I love sharing about my experiences as a mother and a parent! I would say what sets me apart from others is my own personal creativity and I am always open for trying something and new!
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was the jean overalls, backwards hat, barefoot kinda girl running around the whole neighborhood until the sun went down. I remember my mom always telling me, there’s no such thing as boredom. Whether if it was catching baby frogs in a paper cup or sneaking into my dad’s workbench to build something, I always found something to do.
I was obsessed with the TLC show Trading Spaces. I used to take notes on designs, styles, colors, etc and sketch out my next bedroom transformation. I think my dad was happy myspace came around so I could use that as my creative outlet instead of my bedroom.
