Inspiring Conversations with Breanna Wolfe of Bre Nicole Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Breanna Wolfe.

Hi Breanna, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was planning events long before I knew I was an Event Planner. Honestly, it is a skill that really just developed naturally. During my undergrad years at the University of Houston, I worked as a resident advisor, an Amazon Student ambassador and co-lead on the homecoming committee, all of which I was consistently putting on events for over a two-year span.

That experience led me to working for the Houston Rockets, where I helped curate events for the team’s top clients and players during their 2014 playoff run. Following my time with the Rockets I moved to Denver, CO where I became an event coordinator for several major film studios including Universal, Sony and Disney. Over the span of three years, I put together more than 200 events including film screenings, promotional events and press tours.

My final stop on my journey to becoming an entrepreneur was with the Miami Marlins. I spent a year with the team helping to put on countless sales and marketing events, but it ultimately just wasn’t making me happy. One day it just hit me, and I thought to myself, “why would I keep giving of myself and my skills working for other people that aren’t making me happy when I could do what I enjoy working for me and make myself happy?” So, in October of 2019, I decided to step out on faith and try my hand in being a business owner.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has certainly not been a smooth road. I decided to start my business in October of 2019 but I officially launched Bre Nicole Events in January of 2020. The same year that the world turned upside down. (yes, that is a Hamilton pun.) On January 20, my husband and I found out that we were pregnant with our first child, which was a fantastic surprise but still a surprise I was not expecting as a new business owner. Then just two months later, everyone around the world was forced into quarantine. Here I was an aspiring new event planner, newly pregnant, and unable to plan any events for the unforeseeable future. It was a year before I was able to put on my first semi-in-person event.

Some other struggles were finding new clients, learning to navigate through the virtual platforms and truly understanding my value. It’s very different planning in the corporate/entertainment environment and doing it for yourself.

As you know, we’re big fans of Bre Nicole Events. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Bre Nicole Events is an event planning and design company based in Miami, FL. BNE specializes in social gatherings such as baby showers, birthdays, bridal celebrations and more. As well as corporate events, festivals and boat charters. At this time, I do not participate in weddings but I’m open to venturing into that area in the future.

BNE prides itself on giving each client personal and detailed attention no matter the type or size of the event. Some clients prefer for me to take full creative control of their special day while others enjoy collaborationg together so we can bring their vision to life. I am very hands-on from start to finish and aim to meet all of my client’s needs so that they never have to feel any of the stress that can come along with planning.

I have had the pleasure of putting on events celebrating mental health workers, working on the Jazz In The Gardens Music Festival, the second annual Black Pepper Food and Wine Festival and an album listening party for actor/musician Dave East. I am proud of the growth that Bre Nicole Events has had in its short time and I look forward to where it will go in the future. If you are in need of any event services in the south Florida area, don’t hesitate to reach out and schedule a consultation with Bre Nicole Events, “Where your dream event comes to life.”

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I am very grateful and blessed for this opportunity God has given me to use my talents to bring others’ dreams to life. Many of my clients become friends and I look forward to working with many new clients who will soon become friends of Bre Nicole Events. I have to say a special thank you to my husband for all of his support throughout this journey. Without him, I wouldn’t have been able to launch Bre Nicole Events. I would also like to acknowledge my daughter Layla who is my roll dog for many of my events and my mom, dad, and immediate circle of family and friends for their support. Lastly, I have to give a thank you to my sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha who have been supporters and oftentimes clients of my business.
