Anatoly, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started IceBridge Estates International in 2016 when I retired from the investment banking and repatriated to Florida from London, UK.
We picked South Florida for its amazing lifestyle, great weather, low-income taxes, and one of the best asset protection laws in the country. Being one of the best global destinations, it has a very broad real estate investor base, that requires sophisticated services and advises. I’ve done lots of real estate transactions across the globe during my banking career and was always fascinated how, if properly structured and executed, real estate can make investors very wealthy.
When it comes to the professional advisory, there are choices for institutional clients, however, the residential market segment is overlooked. Most brokerages, local and national, consider this business as purely local and specialize in a very narrow “farm” markets. While this approach works for investors who own property(s) locally, it completely overlooks anyone that owns properties in more than one geography, even just across South Florida.
We immediately realized there are a lot of investors who own multiple properties, both locally and across the state lines, who need to have professional perspectives and a portfolio approach to their investments.
Real estate requires sophistication and knowledge of global finance, and understanding of correlation among capital markets, foreign exchange rates, and real estate prices in global destination cities. With over 150 years of combined relevant experience, our team brings expertise from global finance to real estate.

Has it been a smooth road?
The real estate brokerage business is very fragmented and crowded. The biggest challenge for us is client education, as clients are not used to our business model.
We’re a data and technology-driven company. We look at real estate from a purely financial standpoint, as it has all the characteristics of fixed income instruments (similar to bonds and loans), but very illiquid. This strategy is very well received by all of our clients and prospects. We truly believe this is the only way to invest in real estate. Even when it comes to a primary residence, our clients need to know what their equity buildup and the return on investment will be.
The real estate brokerage market is very competitive. We do our best to provide the best service in the industry.
