Rising Stars: Meet Kev Rodgers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kev Rodgers. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Kev Rodgers” Scott is a transparent Artist/producer residing in Collingswood, New Jersey who is now known for Co-Producing Jaden hit single “Jaden Smith — Icon” of his debut album “SYRE” Rodgers first began producing at the age of 14 and made a strong effort to balance rapping with his skills behind the boards.

Often focusing on his peers’ music, Rodgers realized it was time to make his own music a priority. So with production credits including Mir Fontane, Fetty Wap Rico Nasty, Kaylan Arnold, Kenif Muse, and production collaboration with Jahlil Beats Mel Choas Lewis, and Mike Zombie.

Kev has complimented his signature sound with his tag, “Darnell, Turn That Beat Down.” “I promote self-confidence and being RARE.” Kev Rodgers hopes to spread positivity with his music and encourage listeners to be themselves.

I’m just a small-town kid with aspirations of impacting the hip-hop culture.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not too smooth to be honest. I’ve always been the kid empowering others more than they do me. I was the youngest child of three in a single-parent household for most of my life.

When my middle brother Derrick was found dead & my best friend Jose was murdered a year apart from each other it was a struggle. Also, I had a lot of people quit on me on the team two solid people I still work with today stayed with me.

Then signing my first deal as an artist/producer didn’t go as I thought I was down. Due to the hurt, I became better at my craft and found my own opportunities.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a music producer and artist. I’m also I owner of my Kevrodgers LLC business as well as a partner in the entertainment media company Rare One’s Ent. with 2 people I grew up and constantly worked with to this day Rob Tinsley and Tarik Bennett.

I specialize in putting talent together to create timeless art. Such as my most notable accomplishment of co-producing Icon by Jaden Smith. The proudest thing I am about is my drive. Every time they close the door on me I come through a window. I am relentless about my dream.

I will do what is best for me by always being myself chasing rare moments in this game. My sound and drums as a producer set me apart. No one has a better knock than me as for sound even some of the greats!

What were you like growing up?
I was the class clown in high school when I graduated and I always did music selling CDs with my friends at lunch.

I loved hip hop so I was into 50 Cents & Kanye early like 2003. I played football & basketball growing up and am a die-hard Aaron Rodgers & Kevin Durant fan.

Actually, that’s how I came up with my name because of Kevin Durant’s unselfishness as the leader & Aaron Rodger’s calmness under pressure is what I bring to my artistry.
