Meet Samantha Louverture of Misfitcupcakes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Louverture.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Samantha. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I always cooked and baked as a kid. After college, I started working for a resort, doing pastries and bread. Over time family and friends would ask me to my things. So I decided to bake on the side. I did that for a year or two and somewhere around 2013, I decided it’s time to get serious!

So I did all my research and by the end of 2014, I had LLC and I was an official Entrepreneur! Three years later, I have a website, tons of orders so much to the point I resigned from my job! And I couldn’t be happier!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Oh no, lol, by no means. I worked in pastry but my degree is in Culinary. So a lot of my success now comes from a lot of mistakes! I’ve had cakes fall apart right before delivers. It was hard to get new people to order from me.

So I’ve always had to work a little harder to prove myself. But it’s only made me a stronger person.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Misfitcupcakes – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My business is in cupcakes, cakes, and other treats. I make everything from wedding cakes, to cookies, to customized dessert tables. People really like my Vanilla Cookie cake and my Strawberry Hennessey Crunch cake.

But what sets me apart and keeps people coming back is my Misfit buttercream! Folks love it!

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Well, I’m looking to get a commercial kitchen space soon. And eventually get a storefront.
