Check Out A’mari Joyner’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to A’mari Joyner.

Hi A’mari, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
A’mari gives foundation started back in 2020 during the pandemic, inspired by Lien (my mom) who always wanted to give back to the community as a child and couldn’t because of a certain situation in life so she passed the baton down to me ”her child” where I will view the world through the eyes of my mom.

AGF first happened when one day I was watching the news with my mommy & grandmother and we saw the hurricane in the Bahamas called “Dorain” in 2019 where I saw kids & their family losing it all the pain in those people’s faces hit me different once the news said that there is a way to help I instantly told my mommy myself ”mommy lets help them” and my mommy was “with it” as usual so she took it upon herself to post an ad on my Instagram asking for any type of donation to help the people in the Bahamas, no lie maybe within an hour from posting my mommy got calls, dm’s, how people trying to donate, even my teachers at my school donated, my mommy co-workers, family, friends & people we didn’t know from social media. Let’s just say that we accomplished what I had in mind we got money to send, clothes, cases of water, can-goods, diapers, personal hygiene & so much more we didn’t personally send it but we got in contact with this warehouse where they was accepting donations to send off to the Bahamas, once we dropped it off we felt beyond accomplished and like we not only helped the Bahamas we helped the world, I looked at my mommy and said: “We did it”.

Was mother’s day weekend, we fed between 50-60 less fortunate in the Wynwood area we made them a “spaghetti with sweet bread & corn” meal along with beverages. The smile on those individuals’ faces was beyond priceless the amount of ”thank you” my team & I got couldn’t amount, we even had this one special guy sing & dance for us to show his gratitude. Since that we took off with the foundation.

Later 2021 same weekend like the year before “Mother’s Day”. We did it again this time in the Miami Overtown area this time around was a little bit more we gave away personal hygiene like “toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant & hand sanitizer”. This time around the meal got better my grandmother, & mommy cooked “yellow rice, ground beef & mixed veggies”. That day I will never forget it was raining on & off my mother was feeling worried because of the weather and thought that this day couldn’t get any better until one of my team members “Quan” came and told us “Rain or shine we going out there under that bridge and giving those people what they need” that gave not only my mommy & I an extra push it gave the whole entire team a push we went out there with our “A’mari gives foundation” shirt & attitude on and made the best out of it we even had this one lady so full of life on roller blades, show us her talent and gratitude.

Thanksgiving 2021 we was event to our “POP-UP” shop it was “shimmergang 2nd annual pop-up shop” we went out there with goodie bags full of thanksgiving food to complete a thanksgiving dinner for families, cases of water, & we networked spoked with other business owners, & we got over $300 worth of donation. The experience was amazing.

That same year 2021, we decided to “GO BIG” we pushing to make our 1st “Christmas toy drive” happen, we planned it & conquered it with the help of friends, family, & social media help we put an ad out and it went around over 500 shares through Instagram & Facebook, people donated Toys, money through cashapp and some even came out the day of the event to drop off toys. We accomplished our 1st Christmas toy drive where we was located in the Miami, Liberty city area, where over 100 kids came out got their own choice of toys, we randomly teamed up that day with the “HGMG” family where they provided free food for the kids & parents, we even had someone hear about the event and randomly came out and dressed up as “mickey mouse” took pictures with the kids and put a smile on each and every kid and parent face. That event touched my mommy, my team & in a way that was unexplainable my mommy cried tears of joy because this is something that she always wanted to do as a child “Give back” to the community and help those who are in need and for her to see single mother’s & Father’s smile and even cry made her take this foundation to another level.

So put it like this we are now planning our 1st ”Easter Jam 2022″ where we will be giving away over 100 free Easter baskets to kids, have free food, drinks, activities, raffles, games and giveaways all with having a POP-UP shop where we will have different upcoming businesses out there networking and showing off their products. We are beyond excited about this event! We will be partnering up with “infinite lounge” to help bring this event together as one.

The goal & standard for this foundation is to have so much that I could one day bless kids with scholarships & funds to go to school for free, to be able to shelter the less fortunate for free, I want to one day be so blessed that I could bless others out of my pocket and I know if I continue to push and go as hard as I can god will have a plan for me and my community and “A’mari gives foundation” will be big.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
SMOOTH!? MAN!! This journey has had its moment where my mother & I wanted to throw in the towel just because it was times where we wasn’t getting the support we wanted, funds wasn’t right, and simply where we couldn’t find the timing for certain things due to my mother being a single parent, working 9-5, taking care of my family & I, dealing with my modeling and acting bookings, me playing sports from practice to game days & dealing with the obstacles of life doing it all on her own being a young mother. My mother is literally my own personal “SUPER WOMEN”. She is the reason why “A’mari Gives Foundation” exists, and as the CEO of the foundation I will proceed with the foundation and make sure that as I grow older, I will always give back to our community and no matter what I become in the future I will always remember the reason behind it all. & as long as I got the blessing from the man up above and my two favorite guardian angels (my papi & pawpaw) continue to watch over me cant nothing go against me.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
A’mari Gives Foundation (AGF) is a non-profit organization where we simply just give back to the community making sure less unfortunate know that we haven’t forgotten about them and spreading holiday cheer on holidays.

What I am more proud of is my team (AGF) that now we are more like a family and as a team how continue to grow as one.

Not only do I give back to the community, I also get booked for gigs like video shoots, movie sets, t.v shows, photoshoots and all because my “BIG HAIR” attracts everyone they call me the kid with “THE BIG HAIR” hahaha, but music video you can catch me on is “Jada kingdom- Jungle”, & an upcoming show called “For the love of AP” and other upcoming projects.

What sets me apart from others is the other regular kid, to be so young, I will carry myself like the oldest in the room people always say ”This kid has an old school”.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
My biggest mentor is again my own personal “super women” my mother who puts in the work but also shows me the rope at a young age. What has work for “A’mari gives foundation” & my “modeling & acting” is networking with other believers & achievers, social media plays a huge part to all of this I personally get booked for gigs through Instagram, my email, through my mother, & Lilly who helps make the dream work constantly posting on all social site at the age of five I could slightly work my Instagram but I’m great at TikTok LOL.

Another inspiration rather then a mentor is “Teddy Bridgewater” not only is he one of my favorite football player but he’s my favorite “Neighborhood hope healer” he has inspired me from a giveaway he once did in 2019 where he rented a uhual truck and it was filled with toys & cool gadgets to give to his community after seeing that on social media with my mom I told my mom “w

We should do that one day” and my mom was with it (as usual). We hope to one day get a chance to do something for the community together.
