Meet Michael Miranda of The Baseball Club in Dade County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Miranda.

Michael, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My whole life has been around the game of baseball. I played Collegiate Division 1 at Manhattan College. My father owns a Baseball retail store which he has passed down to my sister. After graduating with my M.B.A in Marketing I was currently working at the front office the New York Mets when I started The Baseball Club on Social Media back in early 2015.

I started to grow a following and produce content. Baseball brands like Adidas, and other big brands began to contact me for advertisements. I started to realize what was growing and I wanted to start my own Baseball brand. I began to purchase baseball memorabilia and baseball equipment my sister would advise and sell them on eBay. Working with the Mets and on The baseball Club started to clash, I decided to leave my job at the Mets. I moved back and started to pursue entrepreneurship.

Without any knowledge on how to begin a company, I owe a huge part of this journey to My sister. While she was running her business she was dedicating her time to get me started. I continued retailing on eBay and other eCommerce sites to create capital to produce The Baseball Club products. The Baseball Club has produced great merchandise like our best seller the “Rep Your Flag” hats, batting gloves, and traveling backpacks with USB availability. The Baseball Club will be closing 2017 with over 125k followers on all social media.

Has it been a smooth road?
Working with The Mets and pursuing The baseball club was one of the first struggles. It was tough to manage both jobs, that’s when I decided to move back and pursue it full time. Being able to say I was working for myself sounded great, but I didn’t see any success until I was dedicating all my time into the company. Introducing merchandise to social media was a rough start also, since it was not something I had started from the beginning.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
The Baseball Club is well known on social media averaging about 2 million interactions weekly and over 120k followers. In 2017 it grew over 125% on social media. We take pride in our interaction and connection with our followers. We provide nationwide exposure to Baseball Facilities, Coaches, and players. We have had the opportunity to have big name brands wanting us to represent their products.

Similar to supermarkets and Amazon, We provide the biggest baseball brands to our customers. Our focus is to give customers the option of brand preference when shopping. This also includes our aim to provide customers The Baseball Club brand.

Our first brand product was the “Rep Your Flag” hat that has gone worldwide and we have also introduced products like our Gripped Batting Gloves and Traveling Backpack with USB capability. As we continue to expand we will continue to produce The Baseball Club products.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Miami is a big piece of success for our company. Miami provides one of the biggest baseball markets, this allows the accessibility of constant media content. Although 90% of our sales are in other states, social media content is one of the biggest keys on how the company continues to grow.

More than likely to start a successful business nowadays requires the online feature. Miami provides a great start for exposure. This is a great city with many attractions and most likely provide opportunities whether it’s events or networking.
