Today we’d like to introduce you to Delfina Saud.
Hi Delfina, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Delfi’s Learning Adventure is truly a project that was born from the heart. It is a project meant to inspire small minds from all over the world. I have been a preschool teacher for about six years, and I absolutely love what I do! Their is no better feeling Than teaching something to a child. When the pandemic hit, I wanted to make videos for my kids to learn. I enjoyed it so much, I wanted to make them for kids all over the world. Education is key at such an early age, and with so many kids using technology as part of their every day lives, it is recommended that they watch something fun & educational vs. something they will get nothing out of. DLA videos are fun and engaging, and the best part is that we have one for every theme/subject and we will keep on adding more episodes to our mini-series and the year progresses. DLA teaches children numbers, shapes, letters, phonics, the days of the week, healthy eating habits, good hygiene and much more!
This project is so important to me because form the start it has all come together like a puzzle piece. When I met Eugenio Tillero, my Director, we instantly hit it off and I knew he was meant to lead this project into the right direction. The week after we found Ricardo Duque, the animator for my project, and it was the perfect match as well. DLA (Delfi’s Learning Aventure) wouldn’t be what it so today without these two amazing people giving it magical touch to this project. We have just a lunched and are still small, but just knowing that we are being watched in all corners of the world gives us something to look forward to. Sparkle productions has also been a huge help from the start and we are very grateful for them. Being surrounded by so many amazing, inspirational people inspires me to keep going and writing scripts because we all have full-time jobs apart from this, and somehow, someway, we keep making it work. We make it work because our main goal is to deliver videos to children around the world and inspire them to learn something new and wonderful every day!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
To be honest, it hasn’t been a smooth road at all. It is very hard aspiring for such high-level media content for children when you are a team of only three people. Some weeks are better than others, but we never loose sight of what’s important and that’s “teamwork”. When you have a project that is so close to your heart, it’s like a treasure you share with special people. Nothing is more valuable to me than my team because they are the whole back bone to this, and they give worth and meaning to the most valuable treasure I have. They are there for me on my good days and on my bad ones, and we understand each other perfectly because we are all clear on our vision: we want to make amazing, free, & accessible content for preschool aged children to love learning! Every day I wake up and I feel so thankful that I get to do something that I love!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I have been a preschool teacher for six years now, and I have just recently become a private tutor for children. It has been a hard transition for me becoming independent and creating DLA all at the same time. But you know what? Even when my entire world was changing around me, my heart always told me to keep going and try something new and exciting, and so I did. I have no regrets and I really hope children watch our videos so they can keep inspiring us to make this magical content for them! Now that I am a tutor, I specialize with children from 08 months- 5 years. I enjoy giving lessons and making learning fun for them using academics!
Every day is a challenge and being with my students gives me so much more motivation to keep giving life to DLA. It is in honor of my them that I want to keep making content. I am very thankful to each and every student that I’ve ever had, you all hold a special place in my heart and makeDLA shine brighter! I feel that what really sets this project apart from others is that this project was never meant to be something big, but after showing it to people and seeing children’s reactions to the content, it really makes me feel like we can make a change in the lives of children worldwide. If you subscribe to DLA YouTube channel, you will get access to free videos that children can use as an everyday tool to learn. We have videos on lots of themes like Shapes, numbers, letters, days of the week, and much more! This project is special because the main foundation is Love. We want to inspire children to love, be kind, share, learn, and be special to others !! Believe me when I say that when something so wonderful is made with hard work and dedication anything is possible!
