Life & Work with Alejandro Hernandez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alejandro Hernandez.

Hi Alejandro, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My love for the music started in my home town El Zulia in Venezuela, my father had a band of Gaita that is a type of music part of the zulianos culture, so my house was full of all types of instruments all the time, my games as a kid where playing around with a microphone and pretend I was a singer also playing around with the drums and guitars etc, my grandma, always was singing I believe she is part of my inspiration, also when I was on first grade in the school I was, they have a school band, and I played there a tambourine, and we participated in parades of the city in its festivities, where when we finished the parade, me and my family went to saw the town bands presentations, even I remember one time I saw Don Omar on popular parade that was one of my first encounters with the reggaeton, and when I saw all the people exalted and singing, I went through the vibe and I fall in love with the rhythm and the music, I started to admire and listen to all the artists from Puerto Rico, like: Daddy yankee, don omar, wisin y yandel, hector el father, tito el bambino, alexis y fido, baby rasta gringo etc.

I have a cousin that once tried to have a career on this type of music, I remember as a kid, I went to saw him and be with him for a while, and he was with his partner because they were a duo, and there was an artist very famous on that decade from 2007 I think, her name was joyce love from la factoria, that was a Panamá music band, and I remember they were trying to write a song and they couldn’t find words and I was there even helping them with words, I was very excited, I talk you about this because this action lead me to write a song like when I was on 5th grade and sent it to my cousin, I also remendado that I was writing on the school and people from my classroom were like wow that’s so cool, and That was the first vibe I kept from creating something. By now, I’m doing a reality that vibe that love so pure I had as a kid, trying to give my best and to keep growing, I started on 2020 doing music as a professional, I feel proud when I look forward and see there’s too much to do but I look back and see the landscape of the path I took.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all but the dream always has been bigger than the obstacles I can have.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
