Life & Work with Alton Doe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alton Doe.

Hi Alton, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am a 20-year retired military veteran. Throughout my career, consistent activity, competitive sports, and a wide range of physically taxing training and operations kept me in decent shape. The problem I ran into was accounting for the deliberate recovery time needed to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Fast forward to the end of my career, four surgeries, a couple of procedures, and physical therapy referrals. I retired with physical concerns that need to be addressed.

Unfortunately, COVID-19 stood in the way of my medical appointments and an appropriate transition from my military service. Fortunately, I spent my time at a Fitcamp that kept me in a community of positive-spirited people. This moment in time forced me to dedicate myself to being a healthier me. Understanding the effect the Fitcamp had on me and those I connected with, I decided to start one of my own. A place where there is no judgment, a program that could work with all fitness levels, and something that could bring the community together. Quad-P was a meaningful way of describing my journey “Professionals Pushing Past Pain.” Now I use every bit of knowledge I possess and Coach others through their journey. This has become my medicine, my physical therapy, and my mental health care. I found helping others, in turn helped me more than I could measure. Now we are here!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has not been smooth, but my mother taught me if it comes too easy, question it’s worth it. This road must lead to diamonds, gold, and Bitcoin. The pandemic drilled holes in the roads of many and the isolation associated made this road extremely complicated. Every service that seemed easily accessible was now nowhere to be found. Services were managed remotely, which was a way to communicate that there were no services being done at the time. Banks weren’t accessible for awhile. The things that kept me active was understanding the meaning behind the Quad-P mission and my Executive MBA program at USF in Tampa. The school had become rocky as well, but steps were taken to ensure we kept taking steps forward. This helped me continue to move forward 8n everything I was doing.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in Life Coaching. I’m known for standing in the gap for my team, and that has been careerwise, sportswise, and life-wise. What makes me different is a difficult question, but I believe what sets me apart is my understanding that no matter how many are seemingly doing the same thing, nobody can recreate my spirit. I make it unique. What I am proud of is when I turn to look at my clients, they are smiling and laughing between the burn and sweat. My intentions of planting the right seeds at the right time is what I feel most proud of.

What’s next?
Well, I graduate with my Executive MBA Graduate degree from USF in May of this year and will graduate from the National Personal Training Institute here in Tampa in July. The goal is to solidify a brick-and-mortar location in the Tampa-Riverview Florida area by the end of 2021, grow the community, create a positive professional partnership, and have fun!
