Hi Christine and Natalie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Herz Jewels started in 2010, back when I (Christy) was in high school. I’ve always had a passion for creating. However, after high school, I attended FIU and was pursuing my bachelor’s in Political Science and quickly got wrapped up in working full-time, balancing school and a family. As time went by, I continue feeling like what I was studying wasn’t fulfilling my dreams and that I wanted to create something more for my family, my sister and myself. Due to my husband’s job we moved a bit; from Miami Lakes, FL to Washington Height, NY back to Miami Lakes, FL then Fort Myers, FL and Back HOME to Miami. When we were family starting to plan and settle back to MIAMI, I noticed my sister also in college feeling the same things I felt. Like we had to pursue a dream, a degree based on society and family pressuring us to do something that’s, although we were passionate about, we were not in love with. That weekend our mom’s birthday weekend in June we had a quick talk and decided to bring back HERZ JEWELS, mid pandemic. We were apprehensive but we decided we would do it with love and hard work.
We had the support of our parents that lend us their dining room table for months, and the support of my husband to push us to start our brand. Since that weekend, we’ve sat at that dining room table for hours and hours creating, making jewelry, and being so thankful for the support of others. It’s been eight months and we’ve grown to move our Etsy site to our official website herzjewels.com. We wanted to seek a more meaningful career together. What started as an appreciation for beautiful jewelry turned into a passion. The more we explored, we found our strengths as individuals making us the perfect team! We believe everything that is done with love is done well. For us, jewelry is more than just an accessory. It is a form of expression, an opportunity to shine, a boost of confidence, a way to connect and a symbol of love. The name Herz Jewels come from our last name Hernandez and our passion for jewelry. I would have to say, comes from our grandfather on our mom’s side that had a love for gold. “We love working together as sisters. We know each other well enough to use our own strengths to our advantage. We brought our passion for Jewelry together.” We are so thankful for everyone who has shown us any type of support! Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We started our business officially full time in the middle of the covid pandemic, its been a struggle, logistically with receiving and sending packages, with changing some of our policies to ensure we are always keeping our customers safe as well as ourselves. We also struggled with being a two-person team in a fast-growing small business, but over time we got the hang of it all. But the amount of support from family, friends and even strangers makes everything so worth every second. We fall in love with what we do everyday because we have met so many amazing good-hearted people that it really makes us focus on the now and future.

Herz Jewels is timeless, minimal jewelry and accessories uniquely handcrafted for you. We create each piece of jewelry to order in detail, inspired by your story. We offer gold-filled and silver jewelry as well as accessories like keychains. We are two sisters who began Herz Jewels in 2020 because we wanted to seek a more meaningful career together. What started as an appreciation for beautiful jewelry turned into a passion. The more we explored, we found our strengths as individuals making us the perfect team! We believe everything that is done with love is done well. For us, jewelry is more than just an accessory. It is a form of expression, an opportunity to shine, a boost of confidence, a way to connect and a symbol of love. We love what we do and we do it with our heart we love to do giveaways and connect and work with other small businesses. We are most proud that we are true to ourselves and who we are and what we love, to create jewels, family and helping others. Our brand is growing. We are learning we are apart of this community.

We love when people interact with us on social media, liking our post, commenting, sharing our content, referring us and making purchases. It all means so much to us and we are so humbled by the love and support we have. We are also very grateful that with so many other ways to shop and places to shop, our customer chooses us.
