Meet Matias Duchoony of Castingland in North Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Matias Duchoony.

Matias, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
For almost two decades, our company has offered a different lens through which to view the Casting selection process. We’ve been focused on understand and help directors and production companies to achieve their goals. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, our organization grew into Latam after a few years. Developing to reach worldwide production service companies, furthermore five years ago when we open our own offices in Miami. Since then we have been working on an international Network to help our clients as locals in each location. We hope you enjoy this look back at our successes over the past 20 years, knowing that our best work is yet to come.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Any market is a challenge, every time we approach a new location/city a new challenge starts, there are many parties involved that you have to get to know: meeting the actors, the models, the agents, the location, the directors, the production companies, the idiosyncrasy of each place. We work to get to know each location as well as possible until we are able to say today that we are local in each city where we work. Although the hard work, it is very satisfying, each time we agree to include a new location, partner o city.

Castingland – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are a Casting company specialize in Advertising. The evolution of advertising has experienced some major milestones over the years, as it’s had to adapt and change to suit new mediums and audiences constantly. Most significantly, it’s become much more personalized than ever. We have always focused our selection on personalization. Our clients target audience refers to the specific group of consumers most likely to want your product or service, and therefore, the group of people we select may be dictated by age, gender, but what makes us really unique is that we work together with the director to meet their unique view of those characters, their interests, the look or a myriad of other factors.

That’s why we call it, the fine art of selection, another insight of Castingland is how we manage collaboration and teamwork. The strength of our team comes from supporting each other, communicating well, autonomy, defined roles, defined leadership, and the resources to meet the joint goal/Client Goal.

Implementing this way of thinking through our worldwide network, means distributed organizational structures that are either cross-unit, cross-functional, or cross-organization. So our international strategy is more about facilitating the group effort and making our client feel the local approach for his own needs at every moment.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The future we imagine is today. Today after COVID-19, digital has become central to every interaction, forcing both clients and our casting company to adopt it almost overnight. into digital channels. This new world asked that every company established very agile ways of working to meet daily changes to clients and talents. The challenge might be to eliminate all barriers to improvisation and experimentation and come through with newer forms, platforms, and business model that work with We need to Focus on doing, understanding that everything is in motion and constant learning is mandatory for this industry.
