
Hi Brianna Monique, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I would like to formally introduce myself. My name is Brianna Monique, I’m 21 years old and I was born and raised in Miami, Fl. My journey began by attending the best HBCU, Florida A&M University! My 4-year plan is to receive a Bachelor’s of Science in Health Science in Spring 2021 so I can later become an Occupational Therapist. I started my business because I wanted to show off my creative side and bring something unique to others. The goal for me has always been multiple incomes. I began to research and brainstorm on what I wanted to do and brought Total Hair Collection to life. I have always been interested in hair, I have always been asked about where I get my hair from and who installs it and I have also been asked about styling. From there I just came up with the idea of selling hair but also have favorite items of my choice. Anyone that knows me personally knows that I love having the best hair and I enjoy seeing creative styles and looks and want to incorporate and broadcast my own.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This has been a tough road but everything I have experienced was a lesson learned. When I started my business, it was right before the pandemic began. It’s time-consuming to find the perfect vendor, testing the products, having items in stock as much as possible, and having consistent sales. I learned that running a business is difficult but if you’re passionate about it is worth it. I have days where I’m discouraged but I always think about why I started and the goal that keeps me going. It’s also amazing having supportive friends and family.
We’ve been impressed with Total Hair Collection, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Total Hair Collection started in April 2020. The goal of my company is to have great quality hair, trendy items, and to bring other brands to work together. As a black community, it’s important to have as much support as possible so everyone can thrive. My company sells virgin wigs, frontals, closures, and bundles that are able to be dyed and styled of your choice. I also sell trendy purses and glasses that brings a different look. I’m set apart from others by remaining true to myself & my brand and by my customer service. I believe it’s extremely important to have great products but to also give customers a great shopping experience. Service should always be given the way you would like to have a great service. I remain true to my company by showing off my creativity through my brand. I am most proud of starting a business on my own and watching it grow. I would like readers to know that this is only the beginning! I will soon have collaboration features, more hair products, and visuals.
