Vanessa, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am originally from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. In the last few years, I’ve been splitting my time between Rio, Florence, and Miami.
Often while visiting the sunny beaches of Miami, I was never able to find the well-known Brazilian swimsuit brands that I love. I’ve always been passionate about beach fashion so one day I decided to choose my favorite Brazilian bikini brands and introduce them to the American market via e-commerce, thus, BikinisMarket.com was born.
Aside from being the BikinisMarket.com Founder, I am also a devoted wife, a mother of two girls, and a traveling Vlogger.
Has it been a smooth road?
Starting a business is rarely a smooth road!
One of the challenges I encountered was trying to find good photography pricing. Since we are constantly updating our swimsuit inventory I always need studio time, so instead of spending so much money on equipment rentals, I ended up building a photo studio in our warehouse.
Another obstacle I’ve experienced is with marketing. There are so many marketing companies out there that charge thousands of dollars, promising you traffic and can’t guarantee conversions. So now I’m studying and taking digital marketing workshops and online classes to learn how to directly target our demographic through google adwords and facebook advertising.
As the saying goes: If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself!

The best part about our city is the diversity of cultures. As I always joke with my friends: there’s no culture on this planet that you won’t find in Miami!
The “bad” thing about this city is directly correlated with the good. I always had the habit of traveling the world to explore new cultures, but this city wraps you in a way that makes it impossible to leave when you have so much to discover and learn right here. Lately, I’ve been changing my mind about traveling abroad.
As the cliche saying goes: We live where many people vacation – and for this city, I think that will always hold true.
