Meet Jerusha Greenwald of JG Media Marketing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jerusha Greenwald.

Jerusha, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I organically got into social media marketing over two years ago. After being in the online retail space for awhile, I quickly learned that the only aspect of it I enjoyed was the social media side. While also in the online retail space at the same time, I was starting to grow my own personal platform, and I had friends who were constantly asking for advice about social media, marketing, and content creation. That was when someone suggested I start my own social media marketing business, and I did!

I launched JG Media Marketing with the objective of helping other businesses maximize their efforts within the social media marketing industry. I started small with getting one client at a time, and it’s been growing ever since. I’ve combined my love for social media, branding and content creation and enjoy everything about what I do. I’ve marketed for businesses across all industries and have created content for brands like Lyft, Victoria Secret, Cyclebar, The Space Coast and Wyndham. I have no idea what’s in store for the future or where my business is headed, but I am very much looking forward to where I end up.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, it has not been a smooth road. Being an entrepreneur and business owner is VERY hard. You have to nurture your business, especially in the beginning, you end up working long days, most nights, and almost every weekend. Financially you always have to be safe because work fluctuates every month and if you lose one or two clients, that affects you drastically.

My biggest challenge when it came to my business was figuring out how to scale it while also providing a quality service to all of my clients. It was hard trying to find quality people to outsource work, come out with digital products, or even find the time to take on new clients. Your business is something that you’ve built from the ground up, and it’s hard to hand over certain parts of it because it’s so special to you. During some of the hardest times of my life, I have managed to provide a quality service to my clients and also scale my business, and that is something I will always be proud of. Personally and professionally.

Please tell us about JG Media Marketing.
I am the owner of JG Media Marketing, a social media marketing business based out of Orlando, Florida. I have been in the industry for over three years, have over 28k followers on Instagram, have collaborated with brands like Lyft, Victoria Secret, and Wyndham, as well as have a four-year degree in Human Communications from The University of Central Florida. My mission is to provide a professional and creative service in order for my clients to focus on other aspects of their business. My client’s best interest will always come first, and everything I do will be guided by my professional ethics and values.

The thing I am the most proud of is that I am doing this job as my career. So many businesses fail, and a lot of people have issues finding clients. I’ve been extremely blessed to be able to have consistent clients and do social media marketing as my full-time job.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
In the beginning, I took on any and all clients with budgets that were all over the place, and I also had no idea what my end goal was going to be for my business. Even though it ended up working for me and I learned so much along the way, if I had to start over, I would definitely have more structure to my business. I would map out a business plan, have my target client, be firm on my pricing, and know exactly what direction I was going in.
