Meet Beatriz Gomez of Events By Bea Corp in Coral Gables

Today we’d like to introduce you to Beatriz Gomez.

Beatriz, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born in Cuba. I studied social sciences. In 2001 I emigrated to Portugal and there my relationship with cooking began. Although my grandmother was a wonderful cook and I grew up in a large family full of festivities and celebrations were the most delicious food of This world, I was not very given to cooking, then in Portugal, I had to work in a restaurant and there I learned a little. In 2004 I moved to the United States and started this catering business in 2010, then I went to the prestigious Le Cordon Blue cooking school and I have worked hard for these ten years and today, I can say that our company has a portfolio of clients with super-refined palates and that is our greatest pride in making your weddings, corporate events or a simple birthday party a true celebration of flavors and colors

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been a difficult road, because here in South Florida there are many well-established companies that have been doing this business for many years, in addition to the language barrier, then at the beginning, we did not have the necessary capital to establish the business. As a woman, a single mother was very hard. I started cooking from the kitchen of my apartment, then in 2014, I was lucky to meet my current husband, who is an excellent chef, we joined in business and in love and thanks to With his knowledge, we were able to move to another culinary level, then little by little we were able to make the kitchen in which today we make our dreams come true.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Events By Bea Corp – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are a catering company. We do all kinds of events from a business event, a baptism, a baby shower, a simple birthday or an elegant wedding. We have managed to make a fusion between what is Cuban food and international food; our clients love that mixture of flavors.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Right now we have in mind to make an outdoor place, like a farm so that customers can do their events there and thus be able to enjoy our food in a unique environment.
