Today we’d like to introduce you to Lacie Smith.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Lacie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am a Certified Personal Trainer in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Growing up in sports helped prep my knowledge of the human body and how it works. I have played collegiate level volleyball, professional level volleyball and also competed as an NPC Bikini Fitness Athlete.
During my college years, I started training and coaching the younger generations. *Strength,*conditioning, *agility,*speed and *plyometrics are only a few key aspects I learned early on in my career.
Following college, I was asked to take my passion to the next level and be the Head Trainer for an offsite Coca-Cola branch. The company held a “Biggest Loser” Contest for the employees and hired me on to design a *weight loss program for all the contestants who entered.
Maintaining clients throughout my time as a professional beach volleyball player and training for my first NPC Bikini show, the knowledge I have acquired is undeniable. Even after I received my Personal Training Certificate, I continue to study daily to keep up with the evolving fitness industry and to expand my knowledge to pass on to my clients.
In 2015, I took a leap of faith and opened my own business and am currently training out of a private studio with top of the line equipment. I have clients ranging from a former MLB player, stay at home moms, as well as college students. I have also been the Head Trainer of the HomeTeam Pro Beach Volleyball Team and the strength coach for a select few Flanagan HS Baseball athletes. Lacie Fit has been a dream come true and couldn’t be happier with how the business is expanding.
Has it been a smooth road?
Moving from Knoxville, Tennessee to South Florida was a challenge within itself. I doubled as a bartender for many years until I was able to build up my clientele. When I decided to quit the bar life and devote 100% of my time to the fitness industry in 2015, it was the roughest year of my life. I was living off of ramen noodles and paying my rent with quarters for the first 7 months, but I have zero regrets. I never stopped believing in myself and I am also surrounded by other fitness professionals who guided me and gave me confidence. This was the best decision I have ever made.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Lacie Fit Personal Training story. Tell us more about the business.
I specialize in private personal training, group personal training, and sports specific personal training.
I think what I am proud of the most is the dedication from my clients. Everyone shows up on time, every time, and they are some of the hardest workers I have ever met. They are truly dedicated to the process and completely trust in me as a professional. That’s all any trainer can ask for.
What sets my company apart is the bond I share with my clients, and the bond they share with each other. Everyone lifts each other up, and the atmosphere is magnetic. I give the option to either have a private session, or work out with others for extra motivation. This seems to keep people coming back.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I plan to open my own studio within the next 5 years. Offering more group options such as boot camps and cardio classes, while keeping my private and group personal training schedule as is. Having my own Lacie Fit Personal Training community is the ultimate goal.
