Meet Luciana Lewis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Luciana Lewis.

Luciana, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born in Soledade, a small town in the South of Brazil. I studied Fine Arts and a Masters in Shoes Designer. Yes, beauty has always enchanted me! I worked for many years in a toy factory; after had my kids, I went back to school and graduated in Interior Design and worked as an Interior Designer; I moved back to Miami in 20115 to manager a company of corporate events – like the Miami Open.

Thirty years ago, when I got married, I moved to São Paulo; later, we moved to Florida. My husband has always worked in a multinational company, and for this reason, there have always been so many trips and moves, there have been ten moves in these 30 years of marriage. Now that my children have flown the nest, I have decided to dedicate my time to do something I have always loved, help others. I’m not a journalist or a foodie; I’m just a person who likes to eat well, I know my city well and I like to share my experiences. So, I decided to share my opinion and my perception of the city we choose to live in.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Not, I had moved ten times since I get married and every time I had to adjust me to the new city or kind of life. But the worst was back to Brazil in 2009, I felt like I was a foreigner in my own country.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I’m the king of person that loves to ask someone that lives in a city what is the best to do, and everybody, when they came to Miami they ask me where to go, what to do. So, I decided to create a Instagram @lulewismiami and a website to share my opinion and my perception of the city I choose to live in.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is ephemeral, but when you love what you do is much easier.
