Today we’d like to introduce you to Carla Andrews.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Carla. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Entrepreneur, Author, Philanthropist, Community Leader, Connector, Keynote Speaker, Executive Coach, Leadership Consultant, Business Strategist & Customer Growth Expert. Thank you for having me on your interview! How exciting it is to share this wonderful time with you. Yes, I’m Carla Andrews. I was born in Brooklyn, New York, from Haitian parents who immigrated here to live the American Dream.

From day one, I come from a family where entrepreneurship was the way of life, which gave me front row seat of seeing all the various aspects of how to launch, start, fail, re-start, maintain, build, grow, navigate, scale, and sell a business from those that made a few hundred a months to a few hundred thousand a month.

This life experience has given a great passion for helping others build a strong mind to boldly succeed in life and business with no apologies or regardless of the circumstances. I feel fortunate to be equipped to help leaders, coaches, consultants, entrepreneurs, small business owners, and decision-makers identify gaps in regards to their people, process, and systems and build a framework for high performance and team-building to scale their business and gain ultimately the time, money, and freedom we all seek for our family.

I’m a passionate woman of God whose mission is to help others find true and blessed life. At age 16, I came face to face with my faith. From that day, I chose to take a spiritual step and committed to a personal relationship with the Lord. I felt a calling to use my gifts, skills, and talent of connecting to help change lives. From a young age, a multi-cultural community influenced my style, languages and attitude and it felt natural to use this diversity as a way of life to help people reach their potential. With a love of languages, I seek to portray a powerful message of the cross and of a positive personal change. A strong vision for connection and community is what I strive to accomplish each and everyday. I aim to share a connection between a person’s mindset and her/his purpose. My messages and insights are simple yet profound. My hope is that it touches others in the most inspirational ways. Most importantly, I look forward to helping others live a life that is rich in an abundance of God’s gifts for them and their significance in His Kingdom.

My other mission is to provide anyone I connect with my heart-centered principles and my God-given clients an impeccable service with a pursuit of excellence. I enjoy helping others reach their purpose and goals through an intentional plan of development. Working together through accountability, I facilitate positive and profitable change, improve productivity and create an atmosphere that is necessary for effective leadership. I use my leadership expertise and professionalism and takes the pleasure to be an indigenous partner in a businesses’ search for strategic solutions to its needs.

For years, many have encouraged me to devote more time to writing, teaching, speaking, and coaching. Now, I share my thoughts and experiences about something I have always been passionate about – finding personal meaning in the path we choose to take. I have been studying and personally implementing principles and philosophies behind personal development and the role emotions and vision play in leadership for the last 26 years. Many can use these tools that are proven leadership and business techniques to enhance productivity, development and decision-making skills to create a more balanced lifestyle.

After a pregnancy scare with my last son, I resigned from my corporate career at 28 years old and became a full-time entrepreneur, a community leader, and an educator. Prior to becoming certified as a keynote speaker, executive coach, business strategist and consultant, I have impacted thousands of lives through educational programs, speaking engagements, workshop experiences, and empowerment sessions. As an advisor and mentor to leaders, entrepreneurs, and small business owners, I found my way to inspiring and educating decision-makers and the next generations while successfully building a thriving business serving children, families, and women at our academy.

I hold an Engineering Degree and has spent over 26 years in the corporate and entrepreneur Sectors. She is the Founding President of Signature Living, Inc. and is a Founding Partner of Lifeworks Development, Inc. An avid child advocate, Carla, has served her community through early education, youth programs and volunteering as team mom for several AAU/USSSA Travel Basketball Teams. Carla and her husband, Cedric, are blessed with three loving children and reside in Florida and enjoy family gathering, reading, and traveling.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Failing forward, experimenting, and testing new strategies are part of the entrepreneurial journey. I had to make sure I had a mindset of success and vision. That space between our ears should get a medal for having the power to literally set you on a path of misery, imprisonment of our mind, or lead you to the life of your wildest dreams which includes imagination, creative at a level that is surreal, the level where once you’re done, you jump up and down in the middle of your family room because you just know you hit a critical part of having a say in how you live your life on your terms. Oh, what a feeling!

I had to keep in mind four things to do in regards to FEAR:
• Forget what others think about you. Usually, they are trying to get somewhere themselves.
• Embrace your beautiful flaws, imperfections, your uniqueness, and use all bricks thrown at you as your step stool to where you.
• Appreciate your gifts, talents, and skills enough where you don’t have to ask for approval or permission if you or your superpower is good enough. We all know what our superpower is if we take some time to get in touch with who we really are.
• Respect yourself, your time, and add value to not only others but you.. by neglecting your needs, it shows a lack of self-esteem and if you find yourself in that space, go back to 1 through 3 over and over again… you’ll get it!

Also, if we must keep in focus our time and timing, when you realize that time is your most precious commodity, while timing is the best opportunity, you quickly release much that is holding you back and get to work.

I remember my experience as a college student and dealing with struggles to succeed. There were some classes I dreaded to go to. But I knew I had to go through to get to the prize, which was my degree, walking on the stage and set myself for bigger opportunities by having that degree.

I talk more about this in my upcoming book. I can wait to share on how to deals with various topics, where I dive deeper into our f importance of foundational values, our relationships’ correlation to our success, choosing meaningful lifework, living out your passion, and making your purpose significant on this journey called life. Stay focused, keep your eye on the prize, put your blinders on and sit down, put your head down, and get moving, no second-guessing, if it didn’t work, you will.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I’ve been blessed to have experienced being an entrepreneur, a community leader, an author and really enjoy serving as a consultant to help small business owners and a coach to literally push your mindset to embrace what God has intended for you. With corporate experiences at Florida Power & Light, Motorola, Ryder, and Comcast, I spent over 25 years studying and applying corporate, business, and entrepreneurship principles and learning the impact mindset and behaviors have in different settings. I used those skills in the Corporate, Government, Education, Non- Profit, Ministries, Small Businesses and Entrepreneurship arenas, including speaking with young and old throughout the country and in other countries like Ghana, UK, New Zealand, Canada, and Africa.

I am committed to utilizing my life experiences, leadership expertise and business professionalism and takes the pleasure to be an indigenous partner in my client’s search for strategic solutions to its team and organization’s people, process, and systems. After gaining a vast of expertise and knowledge from these various corporate positions and entrepreneurial experience, it led me to listen to that inner voice of embracing my innate resourcefulness to an inspiring journey of now helping others Build+Brand™ their dreams.

I made the decision to capitalize on my diversified business background, leadership experience, customer service and team-building strengths to start a business solutions consulting agency of my own, AlphaBrand Creative™. It was from there. I launched my Build+Brand™ System, a 3-tier incubator: a success membership academy with weekly live coaching, a 90-day launch dream accelerator where our PowerTeam™ work with entrepreneurs to build their dream business, and a comprehensive done-for-you partnership for business owners looking to scale their business regarding their people, process, and systems.

This innovative method of building today’s emerging or existing business is a culmination of applying those studies and implementation of successful design, marketing, human resources, processes, and systems that I have developed throughout this entrepreneurial journey, which includes best-of-practices techniques, time-tested strategies and proven processes while studying the patterns and trends of some of the most successful (Google, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and also from most unsuccessful businesses in the world such Motorola, Blockbuster, and Kodak.
