Meet Klassik Frescobar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Klassik Frescobar.

Klassik’s blend of Jamaican Dancehall influence fused into Soca & Calypso sound is the perfect mix. His commanding high energy vocals with the sweet soca vibe creates a unique style that is radiant. Klassik Frescobar’s musical influence began in the early ‘90s in his hometown of Kingston, Jamaica in the Constant Spring Gardens area. After getting ahold of his mother’s cassette player and hearing early tunes from Bounty Killa, Sean Paul and Beanie Man his mind was committed to music.

After migrating to the Bronx in New York, Klassik spent most of his time creating rap music but stayed close to his roots by attending local Dancehall parties. Throughout that time, he built relationships with local DJs and producers, including the Jamaican born Brooklyn native Ricky Blaze.

In 2014 Klassik would migrate to Miami, where he would work closely with American rapper Red Cafe who would introduce him to local DJs and party scenes. After hard work and deliberation, Klassik was about to make a name in the Miami Soca scene with his record “Boom” produced by Motto. Currently, one of his most viral records is “Looking Good,” which has gotten a lot of attention due to its #LookingGoodChallenge, which went viral on Instagram, Tiktok and Twitter. The twitter post for the debut of the song accumulated more than three million views. Another notable hit is his record “Benz Truck,” which also went viral for its dance-themed lyrics.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Music has been incredibly difficult. Dealing with egos on a day to day basis requires a lot of patience and tact. I’ve sacrificed a lot for my music and will continue to until my goals are met. The irony about that is once a goal is met, I usually come up with a new one.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I’m a singer/songwriter, specifically in the genre of soca. I’m a rarity in my field because I’m Jamaican. My family are immigrants from other islands to jamaica, but I represent Jamaica. I’m mostly known for my newest record, “Looking Good,” that went viral recently.

What were you like growing up?
I was always really quiet. I would read a lot and write stories. I didnt become social till I was in my late teens. I was always fond of doing research. I’d read the encyclopedia for fun.
