Hey, my name is Latisha Stinson. I started my business when I resign from my Florida Department of Corrections in May of 2019. On July 2019 tried doing my first client after watching YouTube videos for months, working extra to try to get supplies to do models, looking at the other lash techs and I figure this idea is what I like doing and it’s given me a peace of mind when it comes to lashing all I need is my own space, music and supplies. I really love lashes rather, it’s strips or individuals and let’s be real, what’s a girl without her lashes 😊, so I decided to step out on faith and do what I love best. I started off with mink individuals.
Then I add mink strips as well as lipgloss and skincare products. Success is walking from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm. I can’t say this road wasn’t easy and still getting better day by day, one step at a time. On Feb of 2020, I started working at Inktel and to this day, I still work at this employer. I have been seen signs and having thoughts of me leaving that job but my problem is I suffer from the “what if’s,” and I’m a big over-thinker when it comes to situations. It’s not easy when stepping out on faith and putting your business on the leading position of your life. I got discouraged from time to time because everything so far and business is slow some days. I’m excited to start this new chapter for my business with you guys.
Has it been a smooth road?
I can honestly say no it has not been smooth for me. I motivate myself everyday to try to say consistent with my business on a daily. I took a lash class in DEC 2019 and I did a client a few weeks after that and it’s was a very bad experience and I realize that working in a business entrepreneur, you can’t please everyone and I got very discouraged and I stop lashing for months and months. As time goes past, I added facials, skin care products, lipgloss, and eyebrow wax +tint. So, I continue to help myself grow and working on improving myself in certain areas as an entrepreneur. June 26, 2020, I registered my business Minktrap Cosmetics LLC.

Minktrap Cosmetics is well-known for eyelash extensions. Since I’ve been doing eyelash extensions, I got the different personalities of a few people along the way. I specialize in mink eyelash extensions, eyebrow Wax, tint, strip lashes, and healthy removal services. As a company, I’m most proud about being able to come determined. I would be relaunching to added lip gloss, skincare products, lash line, cosmetics line, & 3D & 25mm mink strip collection. What’s sets me aside from others is I’m an understanding person. Rather, its something that may come up and the clients aren’t able to attend the appointments and appreciate all feedback. Rather it’s good or bad, simply because it will help me improve, as well help provide great customer service skills down the road. Great customer services is key to a business.
Where do you see your industry going over the next 5-10 years? Any big shifts, changes, trends, etc?
I see my industry in the next 5-10 years having different kind of people coming to me for lash extensions. Also, being able to teach lash class around the world in different states. As well as, moved out of Miami to expand my business farther and shipping out to worldwide people from cross the county.
