Today we’d like to introduce you to Frank Pontillo.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Frank. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Seventeen years ago, I was part owner of a Medical Imaging Sales & Service Company and I hired Johnny Bravo as a trainee. John had recently immigrated from Columbia and did not speak English so he was used primarily in our warehouse helping to refurbish Imaging Equipment. When John eventually learned English, I was able to use him in the field and he soon became a very proficient MRI/CT Field Service Engineer. I eventually promoted him to MRI manager. I was having some problems with my partners and asked to be bought out and I left the company to work at another Medical Imaging Sales & Service Company. John wanted to join me but at the time the company did not have an opening, so I encouraged him to go into business himself. He took me up on my advice and started a company with another service engineer. After they were in business about two years they grew the business to the point of needing management help.
They recruited me to be their Operations Director. The business did very well for about 10 years and the owners decided to split up 2 years ago. I decided to stay with John Bravo and he formed a new company which is called Bravo Imaging Inc. The company is now the premiere multi-vendor, a multi-modality company in Florida. John has really been able to experience the American Dream and I have had the privilege of working with him and benefiting from the success story.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The healthcare industry has struggled with the periods of uncertainty due to implementation of Obama Care and now there is further uncertainty with the new administration’s delay in improving the system. Uncertainty is never good for business, however, we have been able to thrive because we have positioned ourselves with a low overhead and a top-notch staff. We have been successful to deliver quality service and products to our customers at very affordable prices. John and I have been in this area a long time and have built up a stellar reputation that our customers appreciate.
Please tell us about Bravo Imaging.
We are a multi-vendor,multi-modality Sales and Service Medical Imaging Company. We sell and service MRI, CT, X-ray, Mammography, Ultrasound and Bone Densitometer equipment.
We are most proud of our repeat business. Our best salespeople are our customers. We obtain the majority of our new business from references from our customers.
We are able to sell and service many different manufacturers equipment and multiple modalities. We also have an installation and de-installation team so we are able to provide turnkey projects for our customers.
The attribute that sets us apart from other companies is our management and technical staffs long presence in the South Florida area. Many companies are transient in south Florida but our management and technical staffs stability and reputation sets us apart from our competitors.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I am very happy with our accomplishments so I cannot think of anything I would have done differently.
