Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Saintil.
Sarah, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My name is Sarah Saintil. Ever since I was younger, I always loved the beauty that hair brings out of a person, I was always into Bratz dolls and doll heads and would practice on anything I could get my hands on. In addition, I used to watch my older cousin and my mom as they were doing my sisters’ and cousins’ hair and was very fascinated by their talent. Fast forward to my teenage years, my passion for hair grew more. I started off practicing on myself, then my family and friends, which moments later, with the extra push from my peers, I started taking my gift seriously and launched my business Hair By Sarah Paris in 2015. In 2019, I obtained my braiding license specialize in protective styles such as braids, twists, ponytails and I work with all hair types. And I am also a certified lash tech.
Has it been a smooth road?
If it’s one thing life has taught me is that if you’re really passionate about something, you have to be willing to go through the rough patches that may come along the road. One of the greatest struggles that I had problems overcoming is knowing my worth when it comes to the business world. Many times I would let others define my worth in terms of whether they can afford my services or if they are satisfied with what I have to offer but I also had to realize sometimes people just want to use you and just want a discount or that “free pass.”

Hair By Sarah Paris was established back in 2015. I specialize in protective styles such as braids, twists and also ponytails. I work with all hair types. I am a licensed braider and certified lash tech. One thing that I am most proud of is my growth. Going through my hair album from my early years within my business has taught me the value of consistency. If I listened to my doubts and fears, I wouldn’t be where I am today as an entrepreneur. A few things that set me apart from others is my drive, my passion and my determination to expand in the hair industry. One of the main things I look forward to and make it my mission to is to make sure my clients feel good about themselves during and after their experience with Hair By Sarah Paris. I look forward to the laughs, vent sessions, and even the simple conversations which helps me build a bond with my clients. And more importantly, their smile across their face when they’re looking at themselves in the mirror and the selfies they take with the hairstyle I did ! You never know what a client is going through before coming to the appointment so I always make sure to be kind and allow them to feel comfortable by providing the best services to make them want to come back.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
One thing I like best about my city is that everyone is always trying to get their hair done so there’s always money to be made in the hair industry. On the other hand, one thing I don’t like about my city is that there’s a lot of competition and sometimes lack of support.
