So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My creative background stems from studying the performing and visual arts. What was one day learning different dance techniques, music lessons and painting, etc., has led me to fashion and interior design, floral art, event design and the world of balloons. As a business major, being a mother of 3 and many freelance years, my husband and I finally decided to join forces to create ESD. The idea of owning and operating a full-service event design company along with building a physical and online balloon shop made perfect sense for us. Dreams began to evolve and come to life.
Has it been a smooth road?
When the idea of joining the event industry was born, I could admit that not having 2 things really affected the flow of things, time and a consistent social media presence. Balancing home and work life were difficult and relying solely on referrals made running a business very difficult. ESD was depending on the vendor relationships for bookings. ESD has been through lots of trials and error, such as different brands, name changes, gearing towards a different market, and slightly different visions and goals. We are now, more than ever before, more confident in our design style, our processes, overall brand, and quality work. We work hard and make every possible effort to take advantage of all social media platforms. It made every difference and it seems we have found our way. 2020 has been an amazing year for ESD in such odd ways, considering the pandemic. It was not overnight but with the support of family, friends, and loyal customers, we are glad to be part of the life experience as people are trusting us to create eventful décor for parts of theirs.
So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Eventful Skies & Design story. Tell us more about the business.
Our business name and brand are influenced by one of my most fond memories as a child, releasing a balloon into the sky. Reminds me that one of the best parties ever is over, until next time. Having parties to celebrate some of the best moments of life, is what it’s all about. ESD is a company specializing in stylish balloon installations and unique party designs. As business owners, we are most proud of creating those eventful memories with our customers. Each hire, we do what we love to do. We make sure to do with quality, care and lots of love and personalization, all at a reasonable price. We offer custom, same day installations, a variety of balloons packages, and an array of planning and design services for all kinds of social gatherings. We strive for our potential customers and current to value or style, give the ESD experience a go and to be as excited as are for what’s to come within our company.
How do think the industry will change over the next decade?
Over the nest 5-10 years, ESD looks forward to continuing our services for the community one celebration at a time. Not exactly sure on what to expect for the industry but ESD will absolutely be part of it all! Over the nest 5-10 years, we anticipate a physical shop where we can also serve to event industry professionals and the DIY parents. We shall see you there!
