Thanks for sharing your story with us Ivonne. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
The idea of having my own business was in my head for as long as I can remember. Tipsy Cheese was born very spontaneously out of a casual conversation with a friend where the idea came to light in a blink of an eye. Since I have always had a passion for cheese and wine and all things handmade, Tipsy Cheese seemed like a great fit for me. In a matter of weeks, Tipsy Cheese was created and I started building my clientele little by little and it has grown to what it is today. It hasn’t been six months yet that we began operating and I have to say that I’m very happy and proud of each and everyone of the boards I’ve created because I know I have done them with passion, love and attention to detail.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been a bumpy ride but it hasn’t been easy either. It has indeed been a lot of work but I think every new business encounters struggles along the way. One makes mistakes and you learn from them and that makes you better and makes you make better business decisions. For instance, in my case, there was such a huge demand for Tipsy Cheeseboards that I remember on Mother’s Day weekend I took on more orders that I really could handle. At that time, I didn’t know what my limit of orders were so I didn’t want to turn customers away and said yes to everyone. Well, to make a long story short, I will tell you I remember sleeping a good 7-8 hours in that three day span weekend. I cut more cheese and meats that weekend that in my entire life. 😂😂 However, I appreciated that experience so much because I learned more about how to better manage my business. Also, as a mother of three and a wife, it’s challenging to maintain a healthy balance between family live and entrepreneur life, especially of a brand new business and during this pandemic but we as a family support each other and make it work.
Please tell us about Tipsy Cheese.
Tipsy Cheese is a charcuterie catering service company and we operate here in Miami. We offer charcuterie boards but we have a menu with many more options such as fruit boards, sweet boards, veggie boards and a lot of other yummy choices. We cater to any type of events and we set up beautiful grazing tables. I believe our attention to detail, the quality products we offer, the very competitive prices we have and the great customer service sets us apart from other similar businesses in the area. I am most proud really of the feedback and beautiful comments I receive daily from my customers and followers on social media. This confirms I’m on the right path.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I don’t ever regret doing things or wanting to change things around. I think everything in life happens for a reason and there is always something to be learned from our experiences good or bad. These shape us to be better in the future both at a personal level and also as a business owner.
