Today we’d like to introduce you to Rina Saint Fort.
Rina, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My name is Rina and I am the creative mind and owner of Dazzling Events By Ri LLC. I specialize in memorable events such as Baby showers, birthday parties, bridal showers and more. This all started five years ago in 2015. I started this journey with my good friend Ginie and my cousin Maliya who also creates/bakes custom treats. It was the day before My Best Friend Angie’s Baby shower.
Although she already hired a talented event planner to decorate her event she still needed our assistance to help create some additional items such as favors, a baby board and custom gift bags. So that night we went to her house to do some DIY crafting and of course to have some girl’s time. As we were working my friend, Ginie shouted “We should become event planners.” I laughed at the idea and respectfully declined. I’ve never thought of myself as becoming an event planner so I thought the idea was crazy. After a few days of thinking it through, I agreed to the idea and from there GMR Dazzling Events was born.
Throughout the years, we received to much love and support from family, friends and clients. However, after a couple of years of working together, we all made a decision to go our separate ways to focus on other projects. My cousin Maliya continued to push harder for her treat business, which is now known as Taaj’s Sweet Treats LLC. As for me, I’ve learned that decorating has become my passion and I could not picture how my life would be without it, but the thought of doing this on my own was very terrifying. At the end of 2018, I took a leap of faith and decided to continue with the business. This has been one of the best decisions that I’ve made – Dazzling Events By Ri LLC.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Being an event planner has not always been easy. I’ve faced many challenges, especially in the beginning stages. I came into this industry blindfolded, I did not have anyone to educate me on the do’s and don’ts and because of that, lots of mistakes were made. However, I embrace my mistakes because without it, I would not be the event planner that I am today.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Dazzling Events By Ri story. Tell us more about the business.
We at Dazzling Events By Ri LLC specialize in custom events. We are a full-time Event planning company that caters to all of our client’s needs. When I say Us, I mean my team and I. I cannot execute a client’s vision without my vendors and my helpers. Baby Showers, Adults/kids birthday parties, graduations, bridal parties and more. There is no theme that we cannot execute. My passion, creativity and ability to have a generous amount of patience is what sets me apart from the others.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I believe because I absolutely love what I do there is no such thing as luck when it comes to this business. Hard work, consistency and my strong faith in God is what built my business to where it is today.
